Hi all, I'm looking for help from anyone that has the factory crossbars. How many inches of clearance are there from the roof to the top of the crossbars? I'm specifically trying to understand if my Yakima skybox will work with the factory crossbars. Is there enough space for the attachment...
The brakes are a big reason I pushed my deposit to a 2026MY. I'm hoping this and a few other items get fixed soon (especially since they will be switching to 2026 production in just a few months given the delays with the 2025). I'm not sure it's relevant but my Highlander has some squealing...
As an aside, I find many, many of our problems can be tied back to government, especially in the auto industry (tariffs, MPG numbers, regulations driving manufacturers to turbo 4s, nanny electronic features, auto stop/start, and many more). Manufacturers are stuck complying as best they can...
Moderate trails. The type that highly recommend a high clearance 4WD vehicle (my current Highlander has been able to do these with 8in of clearance and AWD but it's been close to getting stuck and bottoming out several times and is nerve-wracking for these trails). I'll also be adding deep...

I used mine quite a bit. The kids and I called it "Jeep mode" when we rolled down all windows (including the rear) and opened the sunroof. It's kinda fun and blows some of the dog hair out, although it also swirls around a lot :). I had my 3rd gen 4runner for 21 years and never had the...
Can you tell if the factory cross-bars are easily removable? I have Yakima crossbars on my current vehicle and like them because they are easy to remove (lockable too). I only need them on road trips when I take a big skybox but like them off for the lower wind noise most of the time. Thanks.
Thanks for the post. I am in a similar situation. Had a 2002 4runner for 21 years and loved it despite its shortcomings. I test drove two Tacomas (regular engine sport and hybrid off-road) and a 1958 Land Cruiser today to get a feel relevant to the 6th generation 4runner that I'm really...
