I don't think it was malicious, I think they just assumed the Tacoma and 4Runner have the same module shape and didn't realize that they don't. I'm guessing that FitCamX will eventually release an actual 4Runner for.

Where did you buy it from? FitCamX said on their site they never said it was 4Runner compatible -- which is true.

TRD Jon installed one, I believe he has a YouTube video up about it. I found that the JBL system sucks, but sounds much better if you set the front/rear balance to between 50-75% to the rear. Then it doesn't sound like everything is coming out of the speakers on top of the dash.

The camera module on the windshield is a different shape on the Tacoma, so if you're getting a custom sunshade that fits the Tacoma it won't be a perfect fit on a 4Runner. I'm not sure about the rest of the windshield dimensions.

Looking at mine, and at the manual, it's actually a different system than in the Tacoma. There are four different places to plug into, including one under the dash. I also did not find any pigtails included in the glovebox or anywhere else in the car.
