It seems that since the 6g 4Runner didn't reach dealers until January-February Toyota decided to build 2025s later into the year than normal. They did something similar with the Lexus GX550.
According to the spreadsheet linked on the forum's front page 2026s will start arriving in just over a...
This guy says a Limited with the suspension in comfort has the best ride of any 6G 4Runner. Seems unlikely some Bilsteins... or any other regular shock is going to ride better. I would switch to 18" wheels if you haven't. The pertinent part starts at 29:32
For a winter tire I would go with a narrower tire than OEM. I see a few winter tires in 255/70-18 SL. This is particularly true if you ever plan to install tire chains.
Interesting thread-
It shows the wide range of expectations among buyers. Many find the ride of the 6g just fine while others find the ride unsatisfactory. I suspect those who are happy with the ride are more likely to have come from other body-on-frame vehicles with even harsher rides...
As for the ride quality complaints the OP makes, thats surprising. I think thats first I've seen a comment like that made about the 6th gen.
Pretty much every review I've seen/read about the 6G 4Runner not from a fanboi mentions the harsh ride. It's the biggest reason I haven't pulled the...
People who are actually knowledgable on this subject know that the steep vertical descent at the right of the graph has been caused by the current administrations tariff threats. Many businesses and other entities have reacted to the tariff threats by increasing their import orders to front run...
As it is now, the tariff on a new 4Runner would be in the $11,000-16,000 USD range. If you think your dealer is going to eat that on a sale I've got some ocean-front property in Iowa I would like to sell you....
Now, I expect these tariffs to go away and their creator to claim victory after...
Only my opinion of course: I think the front end of the 5th gen. is much better. The 5th gen. looks purposeful and cohesive. The 6th. gen. looks exaggerated, comical. And the 6th gen. flares look like a cheap after-thought.
Everybody is different but I refuse to put up with this kind bullshit. I would have walked the moment they said $82K. I would never do business with them and I would publicly shame them every chance I get the rest of my life.
This is why in the age of the internet I don't even step on to a...
People just need to be patient. If you don't absolutely need a new vehicle this week just wait... wait 6-9 months and you can save yourself 3, 4, 5 thousand dollars.
By the fall 2025 4Runners will be going for less than MSRP... at least to smart buyers.
The only exceptions will likely be...
Just wait... trying to do a deal in the first month of availability is just asking to be raped. Give it 6-9 months and dealers will be selling most models below MSRP.
Like you my use case for a 4WD vehicle involves long drives (6-12 hours) to get to the fun. When the JL Wranglers came out I was close to buying one.... Then I drove it. To me it was absolutely not suitable for road trips. In fact the first one I drove was downright dangerous at freeway...
If you are going to take it off-road I totally disagree with the advice to not put skid plates on a Platinum. Since it has less ground clearance you could argue that you need skid plates more than other models. For the record the Platinum is listed as having 8.8" of ground clearance. The...
OP- This... The Off-Road Premium has all the tech and off-road bits you need without the TRD Pro interior you don't want. With the money you save you can buy some custom wheels to really set your rig apart.... and still have money left over.
