Yes, absolutely. It's lighter than the others in its category and the quality seems to be really good. We've used it a few times already without issue so I'd recommend it.
Absolutely, glad to help if I can and yes I kept the back seats in. There's a separate post in here somewhere about the slide out and storage that I built/installed as well.
At best and bone stock I was getting around 19.5. Now with everything installed, gear, and luggage I get 17.5. It may not be the gas mileage that Toyota advertised but I can say this, the thing barely noticed the weight and drives just like it did off the lot. Would I prefer 25mpg? Sure. But I...
I originally used the brackets that came with the tent however with only 4 brackets and as flexible as they were the tent would smack the cross bars on the rack so I actually ordered 2 sets of the brackets from Xtrusion. I had to uninstall each bar and mount it directly and precisely too the...
I'm a tech idiot so I will try and post the PDF that CBI sent me unless you want to give me your email and I'll just send it directly. There was a decent amount of trimming of the lower grill section but pretty straight forward. Let's put it this way, the winch and CBI bumper install took about...
Its actually the Wave 3 and Delta 2 Max. I ordered 25ft of semi insulated 4in duct from Amazon and used a rubber plumbing flange that fit the duct and the adapter perfectly then added a few velcro insulated sleeves also from Amazon. Kept me nice and cool all night.
Hillsborough River State park and Fort Desoto back to back weekends then my CBI Covert bumper and Openroad 13,500 winch.
Here's a mods list so far if anyone's interested...
- Westcott Designs low profile roof rack with molle panels.
- 40" Black Series RC light bar and ditch lights
- Openroad...
Nice build as well though. The extrusion is pretty easy to work with but I built this on the fly. Had I actually drawn out some plans first it would've been even easier. I kinda had an idea in my mind and just rolled with it. I'm super happy with is so far but I do agree that the bolts will need...
Thank you! I did not because I was basically designing it as I went so it had to come apart several times as it evolved however I'm sure at some point that will become a requirement to keep the set screws from backing out. As for the wood, quarter inch fits into the slots loosely which is one of...
It collapses and comes with a storage bag. I haven't tried yet but I believe it will fit inside the tent. However, I will probably store it in the back of the 4runner so I don't have to climb up the side to get to it. Rather just pull it out and hook it up.
You're welcome. There was also some 15" of the 2020 extrusions I ordered as well and then a kit of extra screws and the Tslot nuts. I think it was around $12. All in all I think I have around $300 into the frame.
Amazon. They have tons of options for attachments etc. It's completely modular and can be changed easily vs a wood build thats more or less permanent. Here's some screenshots of what I ordered.
I appreciate that, thank you! I may consider building some but right now it's a one off build for my rig. My plan is to enjoy it in the wild with my family not be stuck in the garage. Been there done that. Its time to pursue some peace.

A few of you wanted additional photos of the framework and mounting hardware. I had to take the frame out to do some tweaking for fitment so while do so I snapped a few more pics for y'all. Everything shown was found on Amazon. Drawer slides still haven't been delivered but once the drawer is...
