That is awesome!!!!!!!! Thank you for taking the plunge for all of us trailhunter peps. If I could like your post more than once I would. thanks again!!!
So I asked ZR Overland if they had tested these bolt on sliders on the 4runner Trailhunter sliders to see if they fit. This was their response:
"We have not. If the T4R sliders are 2" outside diameter, our steps should work."
I forgot to measure the sliders this morning. anyone know if...
I sent their sales team an email asking if they have tested the steps on a 4runner Trailhunter. I will update this post with their response. thanks for the suggestion.
You might be able to adjust this inside the safety settings. I had the automatic brake going off on me when my bike rack was loaded. So I turn off the PKSB (parking support brake) when transporting bikes. So you may be able to turn off the auto braking feature in your 4runner.
Go under the...
Our family did some hiking in Shawnee National Forest this past week and had a blast. We spent most of our time hiking the state parks, but we took some easy - moderate off road trails while there. No mods yet, the Trailhunter comes pretty loaded from the factory. I'm using a Thule Apex XT bike...
It doesn't work as a step. The rock sliders are very close to the body. I can't imagine any adult being able to actually fit their foot on there. My kid can barely use it as a step, he's 6 years old. if you need roof access, you'll want a different rock slider with a kick out or step system...
I have the carpet floor mats for the 2025 4runner for sale. they're still in the plastic packaging. There are front and rear mats, 4 in total. Part number PT206-89254-50. These are the ones that just say 4RUNNER on them. pics included. Asking $100 and I'll cover shipping. Cheapest I've found is...
I noticed the loose spoiler a few days ago. I wonder if it will be a problem for people putting ladders on the back of their 4runner? Not that it attaches to it, I know it doesn't. But you'll be bumping around the spoiler a lot more and could damage it. I'm not going to test it, but it feels...
I have a white Trailhunter. I'm a fan, but I understand your worries. I never drove the non-hybrids, but compared to my 5th gen I really enjoy this new engine.
The floor mats do seem thin, they're kind of cool but thin.
I also noticed the wipers not really going across the full front...
I'm also not getting great gas mileage yet. But i'm also only 600 miles into owning it. I also drive almost exclusively city for work, so that doesn't help. I'm not worried though. Thanks!!! Same to you.
Hello fellow 4runner enthusiasts. This is the way too detailed explanation of why I chose to buy the Trailhunter instead of the TRD Pro I had reserved. I'm writing it here because if I try to talk to my wife about this again, she'll smother me in my sleep. Alas, I come to 4Runner6G!
I spent a...
I saw one in the wild yesterday, parked right beside my Trailhunter. Honestly, I thought it looked great. Obv I think my 4runner is cooler, but Honda did a great job with this thing. IMO
I haven't yet seen any steps built to attach to the Trailhunter rock rails. I've got some kids that could really use the help getting into the truck. LOL.
I'm hoping not to replace the rock rails just to get some steps, but may have to. Still, I'd prefer to get some simple steps to bolt on...
Those are straight from the factory. The nightshade is a really good looking car stock as is. I had people all the time comment on it in parking lots, thinking I modded it. But other than the steps that I added, most of it is stock.
For those interested. I bought the Trailhunter at MSRP, $69,209. It had some small add ons, nothing major. I put down $3,000 and got $39,000 for the nightshade, on which I owed $14,000. All in all, we put a good amount down and got a 6.25% int rate. Purchased it from Toyota of Peoria in Peoria...
After doing a few test drives and thinking on it for what turned out to be a ridiculous amount of time; I traded my 2021 4Runner Nightshade for a 2025 4Runner Trailhunter. I had been on the list for a TRD Pro, but decided to switch to this Trailhunter for a whole bunch of reasons (a topic that...
