Someone on a different thread opened up the panel to look at speakers. Not sure we have a solution yet... But at least it'll give you an idea of what it looks like behind the panel. I am very interested because the rattle is driving me crazy too...
Thank you for sharing pictures! This is great! I think it's very possible that the rattle culprit may be coming from the wires I've circled in the pic below. Did you wrap those in foam yourself or was there already foam around them when you took the panel off?
(Also, side note, the front...
Monkeybutt, I'm assuming you have the front door panels off. If so, can you take a look to see what might possibly be causing the rattle some folks have been reporting on here (the rattle occurs at certain bass frequencies right behind the driver side panel of the arm rest).
Has anyone tried installing these on their new 4R6G ORP? I'm assuming they'll work and I'm guessing the description just hasn't been updated yet to include the 6G. (Also, the description says they'll work for the 2024 Taco and I'm thinking the door light is the same on those as is for the 5G and...
Apparently our AC runs in "eco" when we think it's off. I took this screenshot from a different thread but it probably explains the water spots even when you think your AC is off (it's actually not).
I can definitely stop the rattle if I push on the plastic... So my thinking is it just needs some extra foam or insulation behind the door (near the arm rest area).
That was an unfortunate decision by Toyota, but honestly, I still really enjoy my ORP and don't dwell on it.

### Annoying Rattle Alert
However, I have noticed a distinct **rattle** coming from my driver's side door, especially with certain bass frequencies in the music. I have a feeling...
Hmmm. I'll try to respond to your comment... (1) The factory sub sucks as you really have little to no control of it's output without crashing the entire set of speakers. The system gets muddy and strained when you turn up the bass. (2) You get way cleaner and much lower, crisp frequencies with...
Tommyd52,
Check out this thread for some pics of a different install. Yes, I connected directly into the existing JBL sub's wiring and both operate (but the factory JBL bass is turned down really low and the new aftermarket sub's gain is turned up)...
The Jeep V8 Hemi with air suspension felt like it rode on air compared to my new 4Runner, but the Jeep was giving me a multitude of mechanical issues (blown cylinder, oil leaks, broken AC to name a few). I'm getting used to to the rougher ride of the 4Runner, and overall, I am very much enjoying...
You're talking about the center screen in between the tach and speedometer but I don't think that's what the initial post is talking about. I believe the initial post is about the icon that is always on just to the left of the 30 mph mark in the picture.
I too want to know the answer to your question! It's seems we're either forced to have the adaptive cruise control icon showing or the regular control icon showing on the dash. Weird it doesn't disappear even when off.
I paid a combined total of $4600 for two things for my TRD ORP: (A) additional 100k miles/10yr warranty, and (B) 5 years full service plan. Probably spent too much but after all the expenses I went thru on my 2012 JGC I had no problem paying. I feel I'll get my money back... the 5 year service...
