It's odd that people are so hostile to this. Your posts, to me, seem like a model of informed discussion. I know nothing about NVH tuning and had not heard about it before as an independent aspect of engineering. Now I'm curious about it. Seems like an excellent thing to have someone chiming in...
I don't know anything, no expertise on this. But off the cuff, I've always assumed that the dynamic load has to do with the vehicle's center of gravity, suspension, and stability under forces from driving. So It would surprise me if that number would change much based on the rack itself.
Has anyone banged up the skid plates on an OR or ORP? Obviously metal would be tougher, but are the composite ones completely useless? Is there some range of terrain/difficulty where they are actually a good solution?
