Good idea, tired fighting that manual strut.
Looks like there may be 3 or so inches between the point the piston attaches to the lower bracket and the bracket attaches to the body.
Do you see any lateral motion of the hood open or closed?
If it is the air/fuel ratio sensor, there ain't any in the US. I did random geographic calls. There were claims of in stock units but all turned out bogus.
Mine went down 10 days ago (8 working days).
Until yesterday there was no confirmation of delivery from the dealer I brought it to. Later...
Report it to management? Where do you think the employees get their direction?
Report it to Toyota?
You will leave a message, send an email, or otherwise contact them. All that crap has zero impact on the dealer. Likely goes into a dump file that is purged daily.
Fox and chicken coop deal....
Bought mine in transit, took delivery end of Sept. There is a spec sheet maybe 7 pages for each vehicle. It details options, pricing, and all important components. I printed mine before it was delivered and in there is "temporary spare tire".
If you can get that it and it shows full size it may...
It is a good idea and I considered it but too much at stake. Doubt a dealer would install it, and worse, there is likely something in the warranty about voiding the warranty by doing so.
Let's just say the Denso site wasn't built at MIT.
I looked at a video of replacing something like...
It is ridicules, especially the lack of communication. Nothing from Toyota, no eta on the order that was placed.
From what I was able to find this is a common part used in lots of models going back many years.
After getting no reply from the dealer today, I called and was told could be weeks...
Of course You are 100% correct and thanks for bringing me back to ground. Likely the Toyota part is spec'd for a more rigorous life.
Unfortunately there are none that can be found in the States and no ETA yet on the one ordered.
Not sure how their distribution system works but the pipeline has...
Seems there are two of these sensors, perryj's part number is the one that has failed. As of this morning there are none, all backordered.
Waiting to hear what that means.
Talked to several dealers in various parts of the country, none in stock.
This particular sensor has been used since the...
I understand the check engine light illuminated if there was a fault in the air/fuel ratio sensor.
Why would a "drive-start control malfunction" pop up?
Why would the front and rear radar shut down?
Why would cruise control shut down?
Why would the auto start/stop function shutdown.
It seems...
Seems the service spokesman gave me the wrong info on the phone. It is the air/fuel sensor. Quick check indicates it may be an advanced oxygen sensor.
The answer to my question as to when there would be a new one available i was told I do not know yet but could be days to month and this is a...
The problem appears to be the "air sensor" which I believe he is referring to the mass flow sensor mounted in the engine air inlet.
None available. Backordered with no available date.
And so it goes.
Thanks perryj-
Good to know I am a bit relieved hearing that.
Waiting now for info from the shop.
The really curious thing is the dash lit up about 1 minute after I filled the tank, just as I was leaving the station.
Cap seemed tight but will see where it goes
Agreed but have to get to the bottom of this Christmas tree dash board first. I'm not sure if this is fatal or just minor problem.
The peripheral stuff like radar and cruise control etc are shutting down to prevent damage, so the service guy said on the phone.
All I need now is for it to go into...
With 900 miles on the car an engine light came on and in addition to the above description I have:
Check engine visit your dealer
System malfunction visit......
No cruise control
Icon showing forward and rear radar off
Icon showing lane departure off
Icon showing no engine auto on/off
The car...
