  1. Why the decimal for temperature control display?

I don’t know the answer, so I’m going to make one up… The display is not a screen but rather a segmented LED that’s used for both Celsius and Fahrenheit. If you use Celsius, then the temp can be adjusted in 1/2 degree increments, hence the decimal is needed. If Toyota had chosen to not display...
  2. Weather Tech vs. Lasfit Floor Mats Liners

I’ve had weathertechs on multiple vehicles in the past. They lose their shape somewhat over time, and I don’t seem to ever be able to get them clean. Other than that they’re fine. My trailhunter came with front and rear seat floor mats so keeping those, but ordered Lasfits for the rear. Like...
  3. 4Runner 6th Gen OWNERS Registry List & Stats [Add Yours]! 📊

Finally picked mine up last weekend, traveled to a dealer almost 500 miles away for an Everest Trailhunter!
  4. 5-tire rotation

Depending on how quickly you wear out the tires this can leave you with one tire that goes beyond its expected lifespan. Also, no guarantees that you will find three tires that match the oem spare.
  5. New 4Runner owner

    It's a beauty!
  6. Trailhunter ARB Roof Rack Accessories From Australia

Anyone seen any good options for putting maxtrax on this rack? ARB has their own traction boards, so nothing from them from I’ve seen.
  7. Sleeping cot (canvas) in 6th gen 4Runner - cheap, comfortable, easy to setup ($60)

Is yours a hybrid? I'd be curious to see where the legs end up when using this as a sleeping platform.
  8. Rattle under AC controls / shift console

If you're desperate enough you could spend $30 for 2 day access to https://techinfo.toyota.com/. It has step by step instructions for removing and installation of all sorts of interior parts...
  9. Tow strap recommendations?

If you're trying to get someone unstuck, use a snatch strap rather than a tow strap. The ARB one has worked well for me. Tow straps are for when you have to tow your friend's Jeep back to town.
  10. Sleeping cot (canvas) in 6th gen 4Runner - cheap, comfortable, easy to setup ($60)

Here's an option with straight legs. More expensive, like it usually is when purchasing gear made by a small US manufacturer. https://pacificadventureworks.com/pages/about-us-hideaway-sleepingplatform
  11. Thoughts on this Platinum Spec Sheet?

My thoughts.... the platinum is a pretty interesting trim. If I was looking for a more street oriented vehicle, I'd probably get that trim rather than an LC or a GX. Probably a red one. As far as negotiation goes, it's all about how much do you need or want that car right now. In the last...
  12. Thoughts on this Platinum Spec Sheet?

yeah, a base platinum is about $5k less than a base GX550...
  13. Just got back from my 5000 mile service

Can you elaborate on why you disagree? 5 tire rotations ensure that I have an extra tire with the same amount of wear, so when (not if, but in my case when) I damage a tire beyond repair I can swap in a matching spare and continue to have 4 matching tires. Using your strategy I could end up...
  14. Crash Test Rating & Videos (by IIHS) for 2025 4Runner 6th Gen

Wow, they really did drop features on the newer model. On my old 4Runner I just push the turn signal stalk forward when I don't have oncoming traffic :)
  15. TRD Pro - Not So Pro Ride Quality!!!

Watching The Car Care Nut's youtube video review of the 4Runner, he describes the lack of a smooth suspension very well. I don't have my new 4Runner yet, but I was surprised at how harsh it felt when I drove a TRD Off Road model. "The previous 4Runner basically handled like a giant boat. ...
  16. Locking oil funnel?

Funny thing about Amazon's "Chinese crap" - you can often get the same item at very different prices. I paid $12 the same one, now I see another identical item for $10. This funnel is much better than your average HF funnel. It stays solid in place, doesn't wiggle around. Less risk of...
  17. Thinking about making the switch from Jeep Wrangler

Can you elaborate on why you're not interested in the Limited trim? If I wasn't planning to take mine off road much I would pick the Limited or Platinum trim. Like the Wrangler Sahara, the 4Runner Limited/Platinum are more focused towards on road comfort and capability instead of being a hard...
  18. Drawers for Trailhunter?

    Agree, and they’re not drawers
