  1. Spacer lift vs. preload collar lift kit explanation

I see that Westcott used a preload collar lift (pre-collar lift) on their 4Runner build and thought this was the same as a spacer lift kit. Turns out they're not the same. A pre-load collar lift adds preload to your existing suspension springs by using a collar, effectively lifting the vehicle...
  2. Parking Assist backup sensors on which 2025 4Runner trims?

Here's the official Toyota chart showing which trims get the feature: "Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking (PA w/AB) and Pedestrian Detection" It's standard on Limited, Platinum, TRD Pro and Trailhunter trims. It's not available on SR5, TRD Sport Premium, TRD Off-Road, TRD...
  3. Back feat folds flat in 2025 4Runner 6th Gen (Hybrid & Non-Hybrid)

Just added this look at the back seats (second row) folded down in a NON-HYBRID. Notice the cargo floor is lower than the Hybrid model (in post above) because no space taken up by battery.

  8. Preproduction (Production?) Trailhunter 4Runner spotted

Hybrid models like the 4Runner Trailhunter aren't supposed to start production until February, so that make this sighting of a preproduction Trailhunter? Would seem too early to be a production model. Appears to be at a port or holding facility of some kind, there's factory protective coverings...
  9. Allocations for 2025 4Runner are here! Delivery begins early February 2025

Nice! Love the dealers that openly advertise a no-price-markup policy. I was speaking more about the ones that don't -- whether anyone has gotten those dealers to ever acknowledge in writing on a deposit receipt / slip that the sale will be at MSRP.
  10. Allocations for 2025 4Runner are here! Delivery begins early February 2025

Not sure if any dealers are willing to write that down on a deposit receipt / acknowledgement. Anyone been able to get no-markup / MSRP guaranteed in writing?
  11. Skid plates & underbody protection differences: TRD Pro vs. Trailhunter comparison (2025 4Runner 6th Gen)

Great look at underbody, skids and suspension of the 2025 4Runner TRD Pro and Trailhunter. First thing’s first: This thing has a metal fuel-tank skidplate. This may not sound like a big deal, but it is, because none of the Tacomas I drove — not TRD Pro, not Trailhunter — came with metal fuel...

That's awesome. Makes sense ... coming from Japan to west coast is faster. Which dealer has this allocation?

  15. Sounds of Snorkel, Hybrid Turbo Engine, Exhaust, BOV (Trailhunter i-Force Max) -- start up, revs, acceleration

@Zaki is right about the Trailhunter snorkel. I just wrote up this explanation hope it helps members who think its purpose is deep water wading. "Snorkel" on Trailhunter = raised air intake for dust prevention, not deep water wading
  16. "Snorkel" on Trailhunter = raised air intake for dust prevention, not deep water wading

Saw this topic being discussed in the Trailhunter snorkel/engine video thread and thought some clarification on the Trailhunter snorkel would be helpful. The Trailhunter snorkel's main purpose isn't to increase water crossing wading depth but to prevent dust from reaching the engine's air...
  17. Sounds of Snorkel, Hybrid Turbo Engine, Exhaust, BOV (Trailhunter i-Force Max) -- start up, revs, acceleration

This Trailhunter Tacoma gives us a preview of how the 2025 4Runner Trailhunter Hybrid will sound like -- engine, exhaust and snorkel during start up, revs and acceleration. You can hear the turbo blow off valve (BOV) on acceleration. Video is shot with windows down. More sounds of the...
