That fix above is for the same issue we have. It’s probably be what we need also from Toyota. I am not saying what you recommend won’t work. I am sure if it was just a simple pad fix this would be easy for Toyota to do. I mean whatever at this point I want the noise to go away. I’ve asked the...
The sport and sr5 come with twin tube shocks. There nothing special. Soon as bilstein releases something like this for the 6th gen I bet that helps with some of the harsh bumps. Not eliminating them but I bet it some kind of improvement...
I also did consider the passport because of this god f en brake noise. But man it’s just ugly in the back like a freaken Santa Fe I can’t do it. I wont do a jeep or ford. I’ll end up waiting for bilstein 5100s to come out and get all for shocks replaced with putting the front up to 1.75 and...
I would agree to disagree. When I am reversing it so loud I take my foot of the brake. Subconsciously because I know the noise stops. So eventually I’ll back into something because I was trying to get around the noise
Naaa it’s 35 it was at 40 but it doesn’t make a difference when it was 40 to 35. Every pot hole feels like your being slammed I don’t remember that in my 4 or 5th gen
What would new shocks do? Would that help? I don’t want it ride like a Highlander I just want it to ride as stiff as my 5th gen which wasn’t this hard and that was an sr5 prem with bilstein 5100s
I don’t know that much either lol. I had those shocks on my 5th gen within a week of owning it back in 2016 so I never felt the original ride but I do agree I get sport and it hits the pot holes like a smack in A. I am sure others will have other ideas. I am waiting on this company...
I am waiting for bilstein to come out with shocks. I’ll probably upgrade those usually aren’t to expense and I think would help with some roughness
Same with me. What I don’t understand is if you take the car to a mechanics and say hey my brakes make noise. Well they say oh well or like fix it? I don’t understand. At this point I’ll buy the fix and then fight Toyota later lol
Also if you google tundra brake squeal you will see other people talking about the same thing. Even worse if you have Facebook just do a random search for Toyota brake squeal. Tons of lc250 people same issue all of us feeling the same. At this point it’s like how long before a fix is issued. I...
I told Toyota it is a safety issue. The noise is affecting my ability to safely backup because I unintentionally trying not to use the brakes to reduce the loud god dam noise. So that’s safe…… ?
TRD Jon mentioned humid might be a reason. I am in south Florida it’s really humid. Tbh I feel like my hands are tied. From reading about this, seems to be going on for at least 2 years. I really wish Toyota would have but a warning to consumers before purchase. I feel like I bought a used car...
I filed one also. Honestly reading the tundra issues and their wait times I am thinking I might need to switch vehicles as I think I am gonna be dealing with this noise for months
Dealerships here said tundra owners are waiting months for repair work because of parts. Toyota should have put a warning out to consumers this could be an issue and let us decide to buy it or not. I feel tricked and I am out a nice chunk of cash. If I could get my 5th gen back I’d go crawling...
They did nothing. Said it’s a known problem with other models and won’t do anything till Toyota releases a tsb. They did open a Toyota case for me.
Mine does it I believe only on the driver side it seems like it’s from the seatbelt adjustment area. Specific songs make the noise even at normal listening levels. I am gonna report it to the dealer when I go back in couple weeks.
Compared to my 5th gen I’ve notice rain seems to hit the back window more than before and find I actually need to use it but it does the job.
When it’s raining and I have my wipers on and reverse the rear one goes on by itself. Bit bizarre I thought something was turned on
