Intercooler upgrade...I didn't know that this was a thing. Pretty awesome. Could you tell any difference after installing it? https://sxthelement.com/products/2024-toyota-tacoma-4runner-land-cruiser-front-mount-intercooler?variant=50200023892266
  2. 6th gen owners - why did you jump on a year 1 model of the refresh?

Ooooh 3rd gen manual! I had a 2000 3rd gen manual with the locking diff that I wish I hadn't ever sold. I hope you held on to yours!
  3. 6th gen owners - why did you jump on a year 1 model of the refresh?

Yeah never ever buy the first year of a redesign is what I always say! But I guess I forgot lol. I had a Tundra with 37s and really wanted something that got better gas mileage and having had 4 other 4Runners, I was really excited about the new one so I went for it. Since the Land Cruiser and...
  4. Stolen! Key fob cloning theft method used to steal 2025 4Runner 6th gen

Kitchener?? Really? My girlfriend lives in Cambridge and I'm there quite often with my 4Runner. Never thought I'd have to worry about my truck getting stolen while there though. Thieves suck. Sorry they got yours 😔
  5. I love my 6th gen but ride quality not as smooth as 5th gen?

What air pressure are your tires at? Over inflated tire has been the most common reason for ride complaints on new 4Runners and new Land Cruisers. I've owned every gen 4Runner other than a 5th gen but have ridden in several of those and had some as rental cars and I think they all ride about...
  6. Greenlane sliders with rear kickout - installed photos & review

Looks great! Did your frame have mounts for sliders or did you have to drill any holes? What size KO3s are you running?
  7. Rust spots on roof within 7 days of pickup

Those look like spots caused by iron on the roads. Common on any car but white cars will drive you nuts with them. They will polish off with a bit of work. Is 4Runner ceramic coated?
  8. Hybrid Real World MPG (iForce Max) - post your model, specs, general driving conditions, results:

9 weeks old tomorrow. 8200 miles. Air dam came off at 5000 miles. Just drove 600 miles driving 75 to 80mph and the meter is still hanging out at 22.5 mpg. Seems like this is where it's going to stay at. Last tank that I actually calculated the mileage was maybe 3 tanks ago and it was 23 mpg.
  9. 2025 4Runner Transmission Overheating on Climbs Off-Road

Most toyotas are like this now. My 18 tundra and 22 tacoma shifters are the same way. Once in D, push the shifter to the left and you enter S mode where you can manually make gear changes. It won't let you overrev the engine but it will let you hold lower gears when needed if it won't overrev...
  10. 2025 4Runner Transmission Overheating on Climbs Off-Road

Use 4 Low whenever you can if speeds are low enough and if you aren't using 4 Low, use the manual shifting mode on the transmission and use the lowest gear you can and let the engine Rev more. That should help keep transmission temperatures down. Same thing as when towing, manual mode and use a...
  11. Brake Squeal Poll

Well people from Wisconsin say that but I grew up in the southeast and always tell them they don't know what humidity is in Wisconsin lol
  12. Brake Squeal Poll

Wisconsin isn't humid like Mississippi but it isn't dry like Arizona either so I didn't know what to select there.
  13. Hybrid Real World MPG (iForce Max) - post your model, specs, general driving conditions, results:

For the first 1,000 miles I was at under 18 miles per gallon. At some point after 1,000 or 1200 miles is when my mileage improved.
  14. Hybrid Real World MPG (iForce Max) - post your model, specs, general driving conditions, results:

I stretched this tank a little further than I'd like to but in typical Toyota fashion, when it says you have 0 miles of range you really have closer to 30 miles of range. But the reserve is a lot smaller than with any other Toyota I've owned it seems. It took 17.4 gallons when it said my range...
  15. Hybrid Real World MPG (iForce Max) - post your model, specs, general driving conditions, results:

What wheels and tires do you have on your 4Runner? And do you have the stupid air dam still on it? Also do you have an aftermarket roof rack or the ARB roof rack or crossbars on yours? I I am at 4900 miles with mostly highway driving and I'm averaging 21 or 22 miles per gallon still. Some of it...
  16. Remove air dam preemptively before possible failure (falling off)?

@Vincenzo. Why would I blame Toyota if my dumbarse goes off roading with that stupid thing still on there? Lol
  17. Engine (T24A-FTS), Transmission-Hybrid (Aisin L580 F) & driveline details

Well that was my point...Toyota felt this engine in these other models needed a special cover for air flow. It was just interesting that these trucks get nothing. But I've always hated the extra plastic crap in the engine bay of my previous Toyotas so I'm good with it lol
  18. Remove air dam preemptively before possible failure (falling off)?

I have 3200 miles on my OR and the air dam hasn't been an issue but I know that it is only going to take one random object in the road to change that. I had to swerve to miss an opossum one night and had I not seen it, that probably would have been all it took.
  19. Engine (T24A-FTS), Transmission-Hybrid (Aisin L580 F) & driveline details

I guess the engine bays in the 4Runner and Tacoma are large enough that this super special 3D-shaped cover isn't needed.
