Even if you take out the rear seats there will still be the foot wells you’ll need to cover before you can use a mattress in it. A cot is a lot easier IMO and you get storage underneath.

If you don’t care about getting a factory Toyota one, there’s a few bundles on Amazon that include the cabin filter for $30. They fit great, work great, I have no issue recommending them.

Just wanted to update everyone who's been having this same issue. At long last after almost a year to the day, the issue is finally fixed. I hope :) The dealer needed to keep the 4Runner for a few days to get a recording of the noise, and were having trouble actually hearing it again. Asked...

I moved the seat back to make it a little more comfy to drive, even found some buttons on the side of the seat to make this easier to do. Highly recommended.
