True, the remaining mileage number which indicates I've nearly run the tank dry might not be representing the actual amount of fuel left in the tank. But this raises another - different concern of being able to rely on the remaining mileage indicator. I guess it's just the age we're in, where...

No one is saying they want to fill it to the neck. But maxing-out at 17 gallons in a 19 gallon tank is ~10.5% less potential gas and that seems odd.
