  1. Infotainment touch screen display flashes red

It’s happened to me as well, and it’s while using CarPlay, specifically the Waze app. I believe itā€˜s a passive form of advertising.
  2. How does 4wd work exactly

Ditto. Not much of a problem for me either. I live in rural SC with lots of farmland and dirt roads on my commute.
  3. New 4Runner not the best with dogs

We have Gunner kennels for our dogs. We had a dog that passed not long ago who was skittish, so we loaded her in the kennel then in the 4Runner. Our remaining dog can be picked up quite easily. I’ve always tried to have a way to load crate first or load dogs into crate that was already in the...
  4. Utter disappointing. Loss in quality. Rusting and salt splashing

Not seeing anything like this with 13k and taking it to the SC coast quite a bit.
  5. Alternative for quick answers about your 4Runner -- try NotebookLM with owners manual

ChatGPT works well too. You feed it the file an ask it questions.
  6. MagnaFlow wins the 2026 Mint 400!

Congratulations, MagnaFlow! I like the exhaust you have developed for the 4Runner. If anyone has an upgraded catted downpipe with the MagnaFlow exhaust, let’s hear some sound clips!
  7. Considering Trading my ORP for Land Cruiser LC250 - Talk me out of it.

I test drove a 25 LC, a 5th gen 4R and finally a 25 non-hybrid 4R before I made my decision. The LC just didn’t feel right. It was as if I was driving a bread truck. I didn’t really want a hybrid yet, and I didn’t want to use the higher octane fuel unless I wanted to do so. It was more than...
  8. If 91 fuel can potentially gain more horsepower, does 93 fuel make a bigger difference?

Man, I couldn’t have said it any better! Shell is my goto. The only difference is Costco is my alternative.
  9. OTT Downpipe for Hybrid 4Runner arrived

It includes a catalytic converter, so it’s expensive.
  10. Chainsaw recommendations?

New technology and developments have brought these battery powered devices a long way. Fortunately, what’s horrible one day will result in changes to remain competitive. The Green Works that I have is horrible. It leaks chain oil about as fast as you add it and will throw the chain at the...
  11. OTT Downpipe for Hybrid 4Runner arrived

The DP is $1,500. The performance gain, paired with other mods and compensating tune should be significant. Estimates I’ve found in my research and limited knowledge indicate 340-370 HP for non-hybrid, but @JustDSM will have a much better idea than me.
  12. OTT Downpipe for Hybrid 4Runner arrived

I don’t have the exact dimensions, but I did place it on the floor by a yard stick, so you can get an idea about how big the Downpipe is. On another note, there’s a clip from CAMTuning with a cold start of a different brand of DP and a aftermarket exhaust. If this one is even remotely similar...
  13. 4Runner Oil Catch Can (SXTH Element)

I’ll agree. This is one mod I’m not sold on. I’m certain I’ve seen another thread or a video on this topic. A guy installed one on a 6 gen, and he reported back that he did not see any benefit.
  14. OTT Downpipe for Hybrid 4Runner arrived

I was just doing some additional research and will get mine ceramic coated before have it installed. Key Benefits of Ceramic Coating a Downpipe Drastic Heat Reduction: It acts as a thermal barrier, typically reducing under-hood temperatures by 30-40%. Improved Performance: By keeping heat...
  15. CAMTuning 2.4L Tuning development with Cobb Tuning

The estimated HP that I was provided with the SXTH CAI and a tune was 315-317, and those dyno numbers posted by @CAMTuning line right up with that.
