Maybe, but the truth is it's super common for people to think totally normal sounds are problematic, especially with how toyota packages their motors
so i bet 90%+ of the inbound complaints about motor noise, especially ticking, are motors working as designed/expected
Higher octane will yield more power on these engines and have no ill effect (the management system dynamically adjusts). Hence how the exact same engine in the exact same configuration calls for premium in other vehicles on the exact same platform. The idea that running higher octane would harm...
IMO they're effectively the same vehicle by any meaningful metric, so trading one in for the other is basically equivalent to trading one in for another trim of the same.
Sure, there are what I would consider minute differences, like that you can't equip a 4R with FT4WD AND a locking rear diff...
After much deliberation, I just installed the OEM front plate bracket with the OEM hardware. Works for me. I did drill really thin pilot holes in the divots that are pre-stamped in the bumper, despite the instructions specifically saying not to do that!

Yeah, there's something inside the center console that rattles/buzzes at a high frequency when I go over certain bumps or terrain or when the engine RPM is exactly right. Really the only rattle/creak mine makes. Haven't been able to isolate it yet.
