These are likely all from the same source.
Amazon cautions that it is a "frequently returned item" .
Much better measure of quality than the reviews.
Although someone posted they have had one in use for a year.
My power running boards came with the truck. I bought it in transit so didn't have much choice because of 4runner availability at the time.
The ergonomics are not good. Stepping on them to climb in gets your shoulder or midsection even with the roof. Way too high.
From there you have to fold...
Possibly it could be taken further up the line. Check your warranty manual. It describes a process you can go through. Of course document everything.
What concerns me is the salt residue under the hood. How is that getting in? Even so, corrosion should be minimal and limited to uncoated parts...
Standard corporate denial unfortunately.
I just did my first oil change after a winter from hell. Seems like the salt trucks were constantly working this year so the 4runner saw a lot of crappy salt and sand.
The engine bay looked fairly clean considering 5 or so months of winter roads.
I...
Thanks for all the info.
Funnel is the only way to go. The jug thing is a good idea.
That truck up on ramps makes it impossible to finesse anything under the hood. Got to be on a stool etc, etc.
Bought a filter removal tool. Well made with tight tolerances.
Probably could drive over it...
Today I did first oil change (3200 mi.) Couple of things.
It was bordering on black. Most of my oil changes on other cars are usually medium to dark brown around 3000-4000 miles. I am not sure what to make of this- if anything.
My bigger question is what is the best way to get replacement oil...
In my opinion that situation you were in is way way beyond just being a noob.
Maybe loosen it up it with a few tubs of C4
Good thing you have those all season floor mats......
Generally it is a PITA but there are many reasons I do my own vehicles. Top one is no one will do a better job. WAY too many interactions with dealerships who do not care about me or the thing I bring in.
Worst was an Explorer I had where the ball joints are integral to the A frame- to change a...
"I don't use ramps to change the oil and I'm old with a bad back."
Air dam?.
-----------++++++++++++++
If it helps the milage I'll wait until I see it in the rear view mirror.

I have not had a chance to look around under there with our wonderful winter. A few glimpses...
Certainly free to load in whatever you think is best for you. But I wouldn't rely on faith that it is true.
Forget the noise out there about it being proven. It cannot be proven - the three popular fuels have almost the same energy, how can you get more out of one vs the other.
Tuning is a...
I am gathering the needed stuff to do the first oil change.
After 6 months I actually realized the front air dam is going to present a problem.
I have a set of ramps that will get it maybe 5 1/2 inches higher.
Will that be enough to do the oil and filter?
Thanks
I 'm just the messenger. It's the chemistry that says the energy in a gallon of gas is pretty much the same regardless of the octane grade.
Therefore you cannot get more HP (work) out of gasolines with the same (or just about the same) BTUs available.
The octane differences are due to various...
