If you think that rattle is annoying, wait until they rip your dashboard out. You’ll have so many rattles afterwards that you’ll forget all about this one.

I had mine for 2 weeks before someone stole it.

I’ve averaged 21.2mpg over the past 6k miles with a sr5 4x4 with 265 open country’s. If I could go back I would have gotten a 5th gen. The technology on the 6th gen is awesome but I hate the 8 speed transmission.

thanks for the reply. I looked all through the cooling system and can’t find one anywhere. I do not have an extra cooler either. All I have are the radiator and an intercooler for the turbo.

no you just have to overfill the transmission, get it into temp check mode and drain off excess. No different then previous generations of 4Runners and Tacomas with “sealed” transmissions. You do need a pump though.

Has anyone checked their transmission fluid level? My transmission feels wonky as hell at low speeds with some harsh shifts quite frequently. I have noticed that when I turn my AC off the transmission feels 80% better. I asked my dealer to check my oil level during my 5k visit and they refused...

My sr5 has a one piece driveshaft.

That’s weird. Maybe some programming glitch between electric and gas switch? They’re definitely pretty jerky drivetrains. I feel like I’m constantly jerking and clunking around at low speeds. I think it’s all those short gears stacked on top of each other.
