  1. Bigger Brakes

Not sure on your towing numbers but towing a race car and other equipment seems like it would be too much for the 4Runner and keeping it within safe boundaries for handling and braking.
  2. No suprise- Toyota #1 in reliability

I am frankly surprised. Not a knock on the 4R, but more on the V6 issues in the Tundra and probably the sequoia. Have the issues, cause, effect and resolution been done. Do they publish a vin list of impacted vs no impact? I was in the market for a Tundra and the issues with the engine stopped...
  3. How does 4wd work exactly

Is that in the manual? i was under the impression that putting in 4hi for a few hundred yards once a month is enough to exercise the servo motors that activate the mechanical stuff. They are likely to cease up with non-use. when you say “gearbox”, do you mean transfer case? would like to see...
  4. How does 4wd work exactly

The Carnut youtube guy explains it quite well. Definetly worth a watch.
  5. 2026 Underground SR5 Build

That is a big tire for a 7" rim. Is that safe?
  6. Alternative for quick answers about your 4Runner -- try NotebookLM with owners manual

Is your notebook public, one source or just yours?
  7. Extended Warranty opinions?

$900 off what. What are you paying?
  8. TRD Pro - payload capacity?

Not helpful. can anyone post the door sticker and help the OP. I don’t have that trim.
  9. Any engine or tarnsmission problem/s yet?

Maintenance is key, more than Toyota recommends. Check put carnut on YouTube, others too. Oil, every 5k, I do 4k.
  10. Horizontal switch opening below the aux switches

Sorry I cannot answer your questions directly but these switch blanks and the housing are a source of one of the many interior rattles. If you do pop them blanks out you might want to slap some silicon seal or something else to prevent the plastic on plastic rattle.
  11. 2026 SR5 - 17" Falken Wildpeaks AT4W - Vibrations

Did you have vibration with the OEM tires? Are you using the stock, OEM wheels?
  12. Fuel Additive - Are you using?

Maybe in the next year someone who is unbiased and not selling a product will tear down a high mileage 4R head and inspect the valves. I guess a bore scope might give some indication of buildup without removing the heads.
  13. Considering Trading my ORP for Land Cruiser LC250 - Talk me out of it.

4R should run 87, LC premium. Discussed and debated in many other posts. No advantage to running premium in 4R. No value in discussing again here for the OP. I like the LC but would also consider the GX 550. However, when in that price bracket, other brands come into play too unless you are...
