SR5 here, 8 months old, 4k miles. I have not seen any updates come through but I don’t know if they are transparent or if they notify you.
For those folk who have experienced an update, especially in an SR5, please share the experience and version numbers.
Thanks
I did not have the option to test drive other models but I selected the SR5 purely on cost. The other trims seems to increase in cost at an outrageous rate putting them in competition with other vehicles, some better IMHO.
So far, no regrets, Had it 8 months. Sure, its got a lot of hard...
My $0.02 input is I had the oil and filter changed at about 1200. Then again at 4000. I intend on repeating about every 4000. Not a big issue for me as I estimate doing about 8000 miles a year.
Very interesting.... I have a non-hybrid 4Runner and happy with it. However, I have been looking at a new Tacoma and the Hybrid looked interesting. I am having second thoughts on the additional complexity and risk of out of warranty issues.
I suspect there is a downside to that. I don’t think our car care nut meant you can indefinitely drive it with a dead hybrid battery. I hope I am wrong.
Great info but asking for a summary:
1) Do some 4G's have an Alternator if they have the up--fitter switches?
2) Do all 4G Hybrids have a Starter, only used in certain situations?
3) Still probably best to avoid traditional car-to-car jumping and use an independent battery pack?
I disagree. I generally cost out a vehicle and consider its likely worth in 10 years, sometimes 12 years. That get you the total cost of ownership. I always keep vehicles at least 10 years, averaging 12 right now. I have one 2005 running strong. So, for me, it's a ig deal if the high cost...
I did have Xpel PPF applied on the front three weeks after purchase. It would have been sooner but the shop was busy. The front is so flat and from previous vehicles, I know it's going to get hammered with rocks. $780 just for the front, not the hood.
I then added a Husky Aeroskin Hood...
Great video and story behind it. The switch back to the original video confused me but its all good.
If I remember correctly, your new 4R bets put in a carppy car wash twice before it gets to the dealer and usually again at the dealer. That might explain the swirls and scratches on mine!
Interesting video.... I thought I heard "The Car Nut" state that the engine has Oil Sensors or something that using a non-recommended grade would be problematic. I'd have to watch the video again to get his reasoning. I think he concluded to just change the oil much more frequently, 3k-4k. I am...
SR5 here. Picked up 2 hours after the truck. Delivered it. The dealer “detailed it” despite me telling them not to.
The paint is like a 3 year old car that has been is a car was every week. Swirls, dings and scratches.
I have a 20 year old truck that has a better paint look. I am not...
