Funny. Even if the length and wheelbase, etc. would be almost the same, they would still be hugely different vehicles and the 4Runner would still be a 4Runner. Diffs between a hypothetical "stretched" 4Runner and a Sequoia:

I don't know why some people don't like them or they replace them, but I really like the stock OEM running boards on my Off Road Premium.

I think a 4Runner that will see a lot of use, dirt, passengers, pets, camping gear, etc., the hard plastic in the Off Road Premium may actually have some longevity advantages.
