2025 Toyota 4Runner Hybrid expected (and EV possible)

In order to keep up with the latest body-on-frame SUVs, like the new Ford Bronco, we believe the next-generation Toyota 4Runner will come with a turbo-four base engine and a powerful V-6 hybrid. We wouldn't be surprised to see an all-electric 4Runner a few years after the next-generation debuts.

An all-electric 4Runner could also come out a few years after the new model debuts. While a Tacoma EV is believed to be in the works, we haven't seen a 4Runner EV in any of Toyota's future vehicles, but makes sense given how much they share.

A hybrid 4Runner would come as no surprise as the new 2024 Tacoma is expected to be offered with a new Dynamic Force I4 hybrid engine -- per sister-site Tacoma4g.com.

That would keep it inline with the new Tacoma we will see soon

Thanks for starting this site. I hope the styling is more of an evolution of the current model. I would be surprised if the '25 model would have a V6. Seems like a Turbo 4 and a Hybrid Turbo 4 are more the consensus. I would like to see a true model comparable to the Rubicon/Badlands with F/R Lockers and Disconnecting Sway bar on the TRD OR. I attached a (Toyota?) spreadsheet about possible engines from Kirk Kreifels, columns "I" and "J" that's online. Also a rendering from Automotive Press for some other styling options. I hope Toyota gives us a Great new 4Runner!
