I ended up finding a new 26 TRD PRO that is scheduled for delivery to my local dealer in Iowa by end of November. Black w.Black interior. I had a slight preference for the Red Interior but not having to travel 6hrs to find one with Red tilted me towards the local unit. Dealer is going to switch out to the tow hooks to Red for me on delivery.

This will be my first 4Runner so I have a learning curve ahead of me. I was able to drive a Trailhunter they had in stock and liked it so I pulled the trigger sight unseen. My 4Runner will be a daily driver especially in the winter months. I will alternate with a couple of sports cars in spring to fall time period.

If any of you have no regret mods, please share. I will post up some pics when it arrives.

We did what you are doing by having them hold for us a Black 4runner SR5 (black interior also) already coming to the dealership and had them upgrade our tires (A/T tires to bigger size and add flat running boards too). We just got it last week (it was actually 5 days early too!) Mods we've done since then are adding raptor lights, dashcam (front/rear), added the illuminated Toyota Emblem on grill, and adding hood lift struts today. I also added some interior stuff like purple knob covers and a middle console organizer between front seats, etc... All these items were pretty easy to install and I love them so far but we have the lowest version 4runner because we wanted to add our own mods to make it our own. You may have some upgrades we don't currently have with your model.

Sounds like you have a nicely built 4Runner. I am looking forward to joining the 4Runner community. I currently have a wrangler rubicon and some sports cars. My wife likes to drive the wrangler especially in the summer for a change of pace so I wanted my own dedicated 4WD so I wouldn’t hear any grumbling.

Congrats!

I just picked a Black/Black '26 TRD Pro Thursday. This is probably my 10th 4Runner. I was in the market for one last year, but they were impossible to find even 500 miles away, so I got a Tacoma Pro. It was an awesome truck. The first thing I noticed is that the 4Runner is more refined and just more comfortable. I loved the Tacoma but it was hard getting in and out and it felt more high strung. (Couldn't average more than 14 mpg around town). 4Runner has a bigger tank so better range.

I've driven it about 50 miles so far and it seems like it's going to be as much fun as every other 4Runner probably more so with Toyota's new IForce-Max Platform.

As for mods, I'm just researching them. Not too many that I think I'll want. I need to get a hitch mounted bike rack, but it's getting cold so that will wait.

I'm interested as well as must have mods, there were a ton I wanted for the Tacoma. Some of the interior mods that I didn't get done on the Tacoma was the Mabbett real Carbon Fiber interior pieces. These will work with the 4Runner as well.

I also think it needs some sort of badging. I may order blacked out 5th gen TRD PRO emblems to put on the sail panels. I also like the topo overlay for the rear side windows.

Oh, and I already got the AJT Designs key fob on the way.

If you have any questions, I'd be glad to offer any insight I have.
