The shift in cabin seating forward and slightly bigger 6th gen gives a noticeable increase in storage behind the 3rd row, relative to the 5th gen. It was tough to get even a full backpack to stay there before closing the hatch. This is better but it came from space elsewhere

i think the biggest loss is 2nd row seating space
