Its generally not recommended to directly connect multiple batteries of different styles, different ages, and/or different sizes. The batteries will not charge and discharge the same and it could cause undesired effects or reduce the lifespan of the batteries.

If I were you, my next step would be to get someone with a Trailhunter and hook up a scope to the vehicle side of the connector to see if the pins are signals or just high/low 12v.

I’m seeing the “CAN-“ and “CAN+” pins… those are CAN connections into the LED bar itself?
I’m guessing it will not operate without the proper communication with the network, unfortunately.

@brewrunner, do you mind measuring the length of the box? I’m currently doing research and plan to buy a 4Runner, and your post is making me wonder if a drawer box I made for a different vehicle would fit.
I've read that the jump start posts are not rated for the kind of current that a winch would pull.
Edit: If we assume a 15 foot run between the winch and the battery (30 feet total), the wires should be 2/0 or 4/0 AWG to sustain 400A.
I'm not sure what the battery-to-frame connection looks...
