  3. Gas tank problem while refueling: nozzle locked, unlocked, spills gas

@Hoyts1 fully agree with the odd angle of the filler port, way more horizontal than other vehicles. willie
  4. OEM Trailhunter Bronze Badge Overlays - Partially Installed (on Hood and Lift Gate)

Nice contrast to the vehicle. I have been thinking along those same lines as I have an underground platinum and its pretty much all blacked out. I have had good history with plasti dip on any undesired trim. cheers, willie
  5. Am I 4runner crazy?

I second the notion of going for it...as a previous owner of 3 third gen runners, and not caring for the ergos of the 4th n 5th gens, I am very happy with my 6th gen and waiting to find the platinum for the super luxury interior and my deal breaker HUD that I cant live without these days. Not...
  6. Wanting to keep the engine running when coming to a stop

maybe clunky infers the wrong notion...I will say from engine to motor is seamless (of course cause the engine just shuts off). when motor to engine starting its loud and I feel a jerk/pull especially when it just starts at a fairly high rpm, hence the pull. After watching a good vid of...
  7. Wanting to keep the engine running when coming to a stop

  8. Wanting to keep the engine running when coming to a stop

hmmm, I would call the 4Runner IForceMax drivetrain in series, not parallel as the motor is between the engine and the transmission so the engine and motor are in series....eh. But yea, it is a clunky transition when the engine fires up and engages with the clutch pak in the motor. IMHO they...
  9. Wanting to keep the engine running when coming to a stop

agreed, it is a very clunky transition, let us know if you are able to find a plugin bypass option, IMHO that would be the best! cheers, willie
  10. Wanting to keep the engine running when coming to a stop

hehe...most young drivers wont understand this but those of us that grew up in the 60's racing from stoplight to stoplight on the street...well, we understand it all too well...YMMV, hehe.
  11. Wanting to keep the engine running when coming to a stop

Hello again all, Okay, today I was able to experiment with my Platinum runner and here is what I experienced; First I tried the easiest which was sport mode and neither sport or sport+ kept the engine running at a stop. I did not try the manual +- suggestion. Second, as recommended by yakalak...
  12. Wanting to keep the engine running when coming to a stop

Hello All, Is it possible, in our hybrids, to over-ride the engine shut down and eliminate the start-stop "feature" when coming to a stop? There are situations that I would like to keep the engine running at a stop. thanx in advance, willie
  13. Introductions & Welcome Thread đź‘‹

Greetings All, Newbie to the 6th gen, owned several 3rd gen runners. Getting up there in years so not as much off-roading these days and a lover of HUD so went with the platinum in underground. cheers, willie
  14. 2000mi 18hr shakedown trip from SoCal to Colorado and back. Additional mods added.

gotta ask...why premium fuel? scratch this question...didnt realize it was such a controversial subject in the 6g runners cheers, willie
  15. Running Boards - Toyota OEM or aftermarket

My Platinum came with fixed OEM running boards...didnt like them at first but they are growing on me for the step-in/out. Like you, not interested in serious off-roading (rock sliding n such) but may venture on back roads a bit.
