Hello All,
Has anyone any experience with the DV8 front skid plate, offered at $199, on their hybrid drivetrain?
DV8 says it will fit on the hybrid 4Runner. So many of the skid plates offered say not for the hybrid drive train...
for me no hole setting, just did the math knowing what the car hauler receiver height is when level and knowing my hitch height then subtracting the difference. At present that is all I plan to tow (a classic back n forth Az to Cali) other than my bike rack.
Previous owner of 3rd gens...loved them. hated the interior ergos of the 4th n 5th gen especially the door controls. needed the tow capability of the 6th gen and loved the platinum HUD, ergos, and with the underground, no need to remove any badging. will say dont care for the clunky...
So @Nodak , I googled our Platinum trims and it came back the Platinum has a full time four wheel drive system. So what happens differently when we use the selector knob and select the 4H position?
Nice contrast to the vehicle. I have been thinking along those same lines as I have an underground platinum and its pretty much all blacked out.
I have had good history with plasti dip on any undesired trim.
cheers,
willie
I second the notion of going for it...as a previous owner of 3 third gen runners, and not caring for the ergos of the 4th n 5th gens, I am very happy with my 6th gen and waiting to find the platinum for the super luxury interior and my deal breaker HUD that I cant live without these days. Not...
maybe clunky infers the wrong notion...I will say from engine to motor is seamless (of course cause the engine just shuts off). when motor to engine starting its loud and I feel a jerk/pull especially when it just starts at a fairly high rpm, hence the pull.
After watching a good vid of...
well your reply is interesting as well...shouldnt be much if any difference between the TH and other iforcemax hybrid models...hmmm. thx for your input which makes me very curious...
hmmm, I would call the 4Runner IForceMax drivetrain in series, not parallel as the motor is between the engine and the transmission so the engine and motor are in series....eh. But yea, it is a clunky transition when the engine fires up and engages with the clutch pak in the motor. IMHO they...
hehe...most young drivers wont understand this but those of us that grew up in the 60's racing from stoplight to stoplight on the street...well, we understand it all too well...YMMV, hehe.
Hello again all,
Okay, today I was able to experiment with my Platinum runner and here is what I experienced;
First I tried the easiest which was sport mode and neither sport or sport+ kept the engine running at a stop. I did not try the manual +- suggestion.
Second, as recommended by yakalak...
Hello All,
Is it possible, in our hybrids, to over-ride the engine shut down and eliminate the start-stop "feature" when coming to a stop? There are situations that I would like to keep the engine running at a stop.
thanx in advance,
willie
Greetings All,
Newbie to the 6th gen, owned several 3rd gen runners. Getting up there in years so not as much off-roading these days and a lover of HUD so went with the platinum in underground.
cheers,
willie
