I just did my oil change at 986 miles this past Sunday. I love the fact that I can actually do the oil change without having to lift the car!. I fit underneath and was able to do all that I need to do. A little tight but doable. Also the manual states 5.9 quarts of oil with the filter. Not 6.

So today I was checking my engine bay on my 2025 4runner trailhunter and saw this. I kind of know what this is for but anyone know what this truly does?
My trail hunter came with an empty compartment also. It’s an option of course. Pretty sad really because it’s a feature that overlanding would use. Just like the removable speaker.
