I never had to replace my side view mirrors but I did replace my door speaker. The video below shows you how to remove the door panel and where the screws are for them. Hope this helps!!

I did this mod to my fifth gen 4runner, and the OEM kit came with plastic coverings. When I purchased the kit, it said it was also for other vehicles like Rav4's and highlanders for certain years. It might work but until Toyota confirms it will fit, I'm going to hold off on doing this.
