I took mine off because they were just in the way and I didn't use them getting in or out. I think the 4Runner looks better without them anyways.

Mine does the same thing when I'm stopped at a red light, sometimes it feels like the motor is going to shut off but at almost 500 miles I'm just getting use to it.

I went with the TRD Pro wheels because the stock wheels are horrible to look at. I went with 33" Nitto ridge grapplers, the TRD Pro wheels are 18X8.5 with a +22 offset. I think they look great compared to the stock wheels.
