Quick update. I was able to get the original engine/dust cover bolts (p/n 90119-08D64). They are exact matches to the original silver bolts with 12mm heads. So if anyone just needs two, see if you can get these bolts through your dealer. I found them through an online Lexus dealer (Rallye Lexus)...
Can confirm this is the correct bolt kit - technically labeled as the Trailhunter kit. Includes 6 bolts. However, these bolts are slightly different than the ones holding the plastic OEM engine covers. The kit bolts are black and have 13mm heads, whereas the engine cover bolts are silver and...
Hey all! Was going to install a TRD skid plate today, but our TRD Sport Premium did not come with the rear “dust cover” that covers the oil pan. And there are no bolts in the holes where the dust cover should have been. So I only have the 4 bolts from the front dust cover, but the TRD skid plate...
Yes, works well for us. I don’t think it’s quite as wide as the OR OEM boards but it’s perfectly fine for us. It’s my wife’s primary car (mostly in-town driving) and we had the predator steps like OP. She likes the TRD better.
Dealer applied thread lock to all the screws for now. I’ll still check them every week or two - doubtful that thread lock is a good solution here. He said (of course) a permanent fix wouldn’t come until enough people report the issue.
Those are the same two coming loose on ours. Taking it to the dealer tomorrow so they can open an official case, hoping it will increase visibility up the chain. Also, the tech (by phone) said there is no official torque spec - “hand tight” is the only guidance.
You’re right - technically a screw. I didn’t torque them (any idea what is spec?) but made sure they were good and hand tight with a screwdriver. Definitely not stripped, but I worry about this if they will need constant retightening.
I’ll report it to the dealer on Monday - they already...
Checked all bolts / verified tight before a 150 mile drive. At the end, one of the driver side bolts was about two full turns loose. Proves that the bolts are coming loose during driving and not just missing or loose from the factory or transport.
Our dealer replaced one missing bolt on Wednesday. No idea if it was missing from the factory or came loose, but it was gone by 150 miles. All others were tight.
I just checked ours (TRD Sport Premium, ~150 miles) and sure enough, one of the screws on the passenger side is missing. All others are at least finger tight. Did not hit any curbs or debris. I’ll be reporting to our local dealer tomorrow.
Selling our Predator drop steps - removed after one week and in mint condition. Includes 12 mounting bolts. Asking $450 - looking for local Las Vegas area meet up for now.
