Update to this, I did end up adding a Tarmac SL8 as well last month. The feel at 9/10ths is very similar, the Tarmac feels just a touch more efficient as expected and maybe a little stiffer in the front end and through the bottom. If between both buy the one that’s more aesthetically pleasing to...
Beating the dead horse with a new report :D
After I replaced the 2 second most outboard screws about 1.5 months ago, those same screws are now gone . I've wanted to keep this thing on for an upcoming 1000 mile roadtrip, but I think my patience is wearing thin and it's coming off for good.
I did finally make it to the dealer today, it is being replaced under warranty as expected. Surprisingly, they're able to source the part next day, which I wasn't expecting. Ironically, another 6th gen was in the service bay right in front of me for the front air dam issue :D
Just noticed my rear trunk plastic has warped this week. I’ll take it to a dealer this week if I can, I also have the slightly non-flush front fender issue. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Maybe a first year annoyance
Great comparo between the two @YotaOverland , I had an 18 OR that I loved and similarly went with an SR5 this time. The 4.0 was more than adequate and I never needed more necessarily. With our 6th gen though, maybe it's not much quicker objectively, but the usable power and mid-range improvement...
I’m wondering how tall the OP is, but i can sympathize somewhat on space. Luckily my seating position at 5’11” is just on the limit to have a rear facing car seat behind me without having to compromise. Our 5th gen did feel roomier, which I think it is objectively measured, as did our GX460.
Perhaps I should have, but I didn't want to bother my purchasing dealer or wait for service, so I went ahead and stopped by my closest dealer and purchased the oem bolt/washer(s) since it was just down the street. For anyone that cares, they gave me P/N 90159-60603 for a whopping $1.52 per bolt...
Thank you! I am a Specialized homer.
I did, I was somewhat looking into an SL7 at the time, and to some extent a Giant TCR. I really wasn’t looking too closely at the Aethos. I recently stopped road racing after 10ish years, so truthfully my priorities and wants changed. The...

I know you asked for DIY tips, but I’d check with a couple PDR shops being such a new vehicle. Feel like it would be pretty straight forward and not too expensive.
