At the dealership north of Toronto, where I am purchasing my 4Runner, I was told I needed a VIN to order parts and that Toyota will not sell me TRD Pro items when I own an ORP. They said even if I had a TRD Pro, they would need to send in photos of the damaged parts that needed to be replaced...
Here in Canada the gasoline charges to winter gas for the colder months. I find my fuel economy is worse then as well. Perhaps the formula changes for you as well?
The front seats in the Tacoma would be deal breaker for me if I were cross shopping them. Also for the time being, a Japanese assembled 4Runner is a huge bonus. Also in theory here in Canada the 4Runner would have no additional tariffs unlike a Tacoma.

I know this is not supposed to be political, but are you suggesting that Canada has not been a great ally post War of 1812? I hope that since Canada has no current trade disputes with Japan, we import the Japanese-built versions here extra tarrif free.
