Every time I go to start this thread, I tell myself I am overthinking it, and than I go outside to wash my 6th gen and am thinking its too cold to do this now and its n the low 50s, what about in Jan/Feb/March?
I am in PA, and they use a ton of road salt and brine. I want to keep that crap off...
Well, I was going to get either Woolwax or a ceramic coating on my TRD ORP, but I heard from one person, and saw other references online that applications of undercoatings void the factory warranty?
Can someone shed some light on this for me ?
I know this has been beat to death, but I was just out messing around with the rear seats and realized they actually included strap on them for securing them to the hand grip on the door pillar after they are tumbled forward.
I can't imagine the thought process that went into adding all those...
My TRD ORP was ceramic coated maybe 3 weeks ago....
I am finding that even with that treatment, I am getting some road tar spots that can be stubborn to remove.
When I find these I hit them with a ceramic detailing spray and microfiber and most come off easily but there is always one that...
This is more of an observation than a critique...but more than a few times I've looked at that area where the RF quarter panel meets the door, ( the area just below the mirror ), and sees that angular area as a dent instead of..an angular area..
I've literally walked out, looked at my vehicle...
I've never really been a fan of seat covers, but am thinking of adding them to my 6th gen as part of an overall strategy to prevent longterm wear and tear.
If anyone familiar with autoseatzone covers ? https://autoseatzone.com
they look nice, and the few YouTube videos ive found seem positive...
Twice yesterday during my commute home from work on a normal two lane highway I had the ACC engaged and set to provide the maximum distance between myself and the car in front of me.
I encountered two instances where a car was parked on the shoulder, well past the white line thats on the right...
On both my 2003 4th gen and 2011 5th gen ( simply can't believe it's been 22 and 14 years respectively ! ), I racked up a ton of miles in short order due to a long commute (~32 miles one way ), and hobbies and interests that led me far from home.
With my 6th gen, I am trying to not repeat...
I am still trying to figure out the best way to transport my 5 year old Weimaraner in my TRD ORP.
I thought a kennel would be the best and safest answer, but it frankly just takes up far more space than I thought it would and makes transporting camping gear in the cargo area with the kennel...
The " pillar " near where the seat belt buckle retracts to is getting pretty beat up on both the passenger and drivers side in my 6th gen, and I also noticed that the trim on the lower part of the door panel has some rash on it on both sides also, presumably from shoes scraping against it.
Now...
When I first brought my TRD ORP home 6 weeks ago, the trailer hitch light as well as the interior overhead lights would light up when I walked up to it with a key fob.
I noticed yesterday that while the interior lights will still illuminate when I approach the vehicle with a key fob, the...
4 days after receiving my TRD ORP my dumbass somehow managed to do whats described here: https://www.4runner6g.com/forum/threads/6th-gens-dent-easily.5698/
It bugged me enough that I filed a comprehensive claim and took it to the dealers collision center to get it addressed and fixed properly...
On my black 2011 TE I had 70% tint installed all around and it looked awesome.
On my HB TRD ORP I was going to do the same thing, but every time I look at the lighter tint on the back passenger compartment windows, I start thinking a lighter tint may look better on this vehicle.
If anyone...
I have a 5 year old Weimaraner and my 6th gen TRD ORP sits too high for her to jump in and out of.
I've been looking at those doggie hitch steps. Those that have them, does your dog actually use them ?
I just picked up my 6th Gen TRD ORP on Thursday, drove it to work friday, errands on Saturday, and spent 4-5 hours detailing it today.
I was just outside looking it over and I noticed a dent in the right front, where that " seam " is that runs down the center. I have absolutely no clue where...
