  1. 2026 4Runner Pricing / Changes / Updates / Colors - Official Announcement

I got my Off Road MAX in April for the $51,990. Based on comments here (e.g. no substantive changes for '26) and the fact that I've had no issues with the vehicle, I'm mostly happy with the decision to buy. Only consideration is perhaps ORP would have been worth the extra money due to added...
  2. Which HVAC mode to blow to rear seats?

I had the same question as the OP, and you probably answered it. Normally I'd assume "green=ON=flow everywhere", but apparently it is "green=OFF=no flow to back seats". Very confusing. Also no idea what "S Flow" means.
  3. Jerking motion going downhill (MAX equipped)

Yes this theory makes sense. That's kind of why I was hoping there might be (or Toyota can come up with) a software fix that says effectively: "Traction battery is full. Disable regenerative braking completely until it's only 80% full". If what you says is correct, it's behaving like the...
  4. Jerking motion going downhill (MAX equipped)

To clarify, the problem is when going downhill and not applying ANY throttle inputs. What appears to be happening is the car itself is applying unwanted throttle inputs, rapidly on and off, thus the unwanted jerky behavior. The shift lever is in "S" to set a max gear, not a fixed gear. I...
  5. Jerking motion going downhill (MAX equipped)

I've encountered a very noticeable and bothersome jerking motion going downhill when the traction battery is fully charged, and shift lever is in "S" to help reduce speed. The attached pic shows the options I've enabled which helped diagnose the problem. The traction battery status (LHS panel 8...
  6. How many miles did you drive to pick up your 6G 4Runner?

Contract for car currently being built was "done" with a $1K deposit. There were actually some weasel words in there (e.g. needed manager signature, left blank) but none were applied when the car arrived. No upsell. And, no unwanted dealer advertisement pasted to the rear!
  7. How many miles did you drive to pick up your 6G 4Runner?

260 miles round-trip to Laramie, WY. Went that far to avoid the detestable "additional dealer markup". Good, honest dealership for both sales and service, BTW
  8. How long did it take to get your 4Runner from the day you left a deposit

Yes. In my case on the $1K deposit, I made sure they put down final price as part of the contract. Turned out there were still weasel words in there, such as still requires manager's OK. But when the car arrived they honored the contract to the letter. So, as Nodak suggests, find a different dealer.
  9. 25' 4R TRD Pro - Alternator Broken

Wow that's bad, sorry to hear. I said elsewhere my '25 off-road doesn't even have an alternator because it is hybrid with electricity generated that way. Wondering should the hybrid generation go belly-up, if remaining 12-volt juice can be used to drive to a nearby shop (like your situation) or...
  10. How long did it take to get your 4Runner from the day you left a deposit

I got lucky. Exactly what I wanted (off-road, hybrid, nice color) was in the build process in late Feb. Put in a $1K deposit to make it mine, then picked up the car in late April, so 2-month wait. In retrospect, off-road premium might have been worth it due to AUX switches and alternator as...
  11. The "Brake Hold" feature is useful

It's pg 228 in both the hard-copy that came with my vehicle as well as the copy I downloaded (also in April!). Probably the explanation from MikeD is right: hybrid vs. non-hybrid manuals.
  12. The "Brake Hold" feature is useful

Interestingly, this feature is described on pg 228 of my manual. Perhaps there are different manual versions, depending on when the vehicle was produced?
  13. DAC/Crawl control

Based on responses here and rereading the manual, looks like my above statement is incorrect. I don't want to say much more since I'm still new at this stuff. But, it looks like "Crawl" requires 4L (end of pg 415 in the manual), and "DAC" requires 4H (top of pg 420). I only used the system going...
  14. DAC/Crawl control

Empirically DAC definitely worked in 4L. Not sure what would have happened if I enabled it in 4H. As I said, I found the instructions confusing. Going down, the DAC worked great. For that road, employing Crawl going up didn't seem useful, but maybe I should have tried it for experimentation.
  15. DAC/Crawl control

Just finished first serious 4wd experience in 6th gen off-road. In SW Colorado, took Nellie Creek road from 9.3K feet to Uncompahgre peak trailhead at 11.4K feet. Not sure the linear distance, but I'll guess maybe 6 steep miles. Found the DAC/Crawl control instructions in the manual to be...
  16. Towing a trailer with new 4Runner Hybrid - minimum miles required on odometer?

Page 190 of my 2025 4runner owner manual recommends: "For the first 500 miles: Do not tow a trailer." That page also lists some other recommendations for what to avoid when the vehicle has low miles.
  17. Rough Shifting and Power

16.5 mpg sounds kind of low. I'll generally get 22-24 over flat terrain. I do use ethanol-free gas, which as I understand gives better mileage due to higher energy density than the ethanol stuff. I've also found mileage decreases substantially going over 70mph on the hiway.
  18. Rough Shifting and Power

Extra good mileage came from buying gas at 9000 feet elevation, resetting, then driving home 30 miles away at 6000 feet.
  19. Rough Shifting and Power

I have found that the car seems to want to avoid downshifting (e.g. when going uphill) by using the electric motor to assist the gas engine while staying in whatever higher gear it's currently in. It'll give up and downshift if/when high electric power isn't sufficient, which can result in...
  20. New tire options after sidewall puncture on Trailhunter.

Awesome! Thanks so much for the detailed info!
