My shepherd is also interested in this! The one advertised by Toyota is available on Amazon for less (here), but I’d be keen to hear experiences from those that have purchased this one or others.

This is the part I’m curious about. Aren’t the torsen diffs on the ft 4wd friction based? Just based on that it would seem it’d have a limited life in comparison. Anyone have info on expected lifetime for that component?

This one is the real head scratcher for me. You can’t overland worth a damn with that payload limit. Perhaps Toyota is being overly conservative to reduce warranty coverage?
