Haha! They’re probably great for non hybrid, but I want to be honest about the experience. If you’re non hybrid and everything fits where RCI says, the install instructions still blow and there’s still no install video from RCI. I don’t have time to decipher RCI's intent behind an install step...
It’s probably fine if you’re not hybrid, and enjoy sorting the hardware. I’d prefer rivnuts where possible, but that’s not part of the install for these. Once I sell them I’ll get Westcott’s which have a much better install procedure and experience overall. I cheaped out and should have known...
Seems like it makes your entry or departure angle less favorable by extending the hitch, and tbh looks a lot like a gimmick. How would it “protect” your hitch receiver any better than an installed hitch?
Top plate, halfway installed but taken off and going another direction. NOT ideal for hybrid. All hardware included except you’ll need five of the M4 speed nut holders from RCI. No shipping, local pickup in COS or within 50 miles.
In the middle of this project…the instructions barely mention the compromises and adaptations required for hybrid install, which result in the overall structural rigidity suffering. Specifically, the rear carriage bolts and plates cannot be installed from the inside of frame on passenger side as...
2010 FJ Cruiser TT (Miss it a little but don’t miss the reliable but thirsty and slow V6.)
2015 Cayenne GTS (still have it and love it)
2015 Tundra (love it, it’s a warhorse)
What’s the functional improvement you mention? Also, those appear to be the stock puny horns that definitely need replaced and are only $100 for the pair from StickerFab.
I don’t get the implication. They look like vaguely my old FJ TT wheels and lots of other fake bead lock wheels. But still better than the TRD ORP wheels.
Hybrid on this vehicle is a power adder, not for increased MPG. Even the “eco” mode doesn’t give better MPG, but allegedly makes for smoother driving experience somehow. In fact my MPG was worse in eco mode, and I also have hybrid. Switched to normal driving mode and get nearly 20mpg, up from...
