I did the same thing! They just arrived today. $350ish for the front and back glossy black.
Won't have time until next March to install (next extended time off work).
But I plan to use the various aftermarket front bumper installation guides and the Rago rear bumper installation guide to help me...
As disclaimer--
I do not have a business background, nor do I know anything about wheels.
But I did spend one afternoon researching wheels and ended up with the TRD wheels because they look good, were a good price, and most importantly---I hate poke (this is also when I learned what this was...
Ultimately, the point I'm trying to make is that you don't know what's going on behind the scenes of a business. Different businesses use different marketing, pricing, customer service, shipping strategies, etc. It's hard to tell the value of what you're actually getting until you analyze all...
Also the reason we lost purchase protection on a lot of our credit cards as well as generous returns from many stores. There are a lot of people who just abuse the system.
Can you train all your staff to think and reason through a problem? Do some critical thinking?
Be able to discern an honest...
@Clipse I understand you are upset. I would be too. But I'm not sure what world you live in--because I would love to come and live in your world. It sounds ideal.
But you have to put some rules in place because we actually live in a world where people abuse the system and take advantage of your...
This is how I like to think of it as well. PPF is way too expensive to justify. I expect all the used cars I buy to have a couple rock chips. Why would I invest even $1-2k to make the care look more pristine for the next guy.
Gonna be honest. I don't see any damage on the box itself, making me believe it more likely happened before packaging or as it was being packaged and gone unnoticed. Having said that, you waived your right to any recourse. From the business's POV, it's hard to give every person that emails them...
I have the limited trim too!
Here are my mods:
1st mod and most useful/quality changing- Smaller wheels, bigger tires made a huge difference in reducing/eliminating my motion sickness in the car.
- 18'' matte black TRD wheels
- Bridgestone 265/70/18 tires
- "Toyota" Heritage wheelcaps (silver)...
Hi Jaytech, do you happen to know the part number for the ORP flat black front and rear valances? Is it different from the SR5? I actually prefer the flat black over the platinum's glossy black.
Late reply- They are awesome! These are my first set of non-highway tires (so take with a grain of salt), but they aren't as noisy as I expected them to be. They ride pretty smoothly and look great! I have about 1k miles on them now.
For future readers of this thread and one more data point:
I...
Thanks guys. Just an update. Went with the 18'' TRD "upgrade" wheels and Bridgestone Dueler A/T Ascents. Softened up the ride significantly! Thank you all for the recs.
@Griffin27
I saw your threads on the dechroming and grill swap. Your 4runner is exactly what I would want mine to look like...
Thank you guys for all the great information! Thank you for the weight of the stock/wheel combo @808runner . That was very helpful! I've been searching for that information.
So now, I was wondering what you guys think about dropping down to 18'' wheels and the Michelin Defender LTX MS2s in...
Ahh I see. Thanks for that information.
So I def plan to be more on-road, with its only offroad use being driving on unpaved dirt/gravel roads when out to visit my in-laws on weekends.
So what tire do you suggest for more comfort?
The only reason I went down this rabbit-hole is that I read...
Hey guys, I am thinking of upgrading to the 18'' TRD (non-pro) wheel with +45 offset and pairing with a SL load weight tire such as :
1) Bridgestone Dueler A/T ascent in 265/70/18
2) Nitto Terra Grappler G3 in 275/70/18
My main priority is 1) ride quality/comfort on-road which would be balanced...
