So, this happened on Monday morning on my Trailhunter.
I took it to the dealer. Two hours later, they said that it was a bad oxygen sensor.
I asked the service manager why all those errors appeared and he said that Toyotas are funky. When one thing throws an error, other subsystems join the party.
I'm hoping the aftermarket will come up with a diverter that you can switch as needed. I often drive in dusty environments so I get having the air intake above a lot of that but the noise when driving around town means I can't roll the passenger window down. Of course, now that cold weather is...
I had my 5000 mile service done and added an oil change. I could be nuts but it seems like the MPG is better after that.
That said, the EPA in its infinite wisdom does highway mileage testing at 60 MPH. I don't know anyone in the southwest who drives that slowly on the highway.
Lucky you on the mileage. I just did an 800 mile trip mostly on highway and got about 17. Of course, that was at 75+ MPH. But it was all flat. That got me curious. The EPA's testing standard for highway mileage is <60 MPH. Who drives that slow on a highway?
I just confirmed my earlier post. I hooked up my trailer and drove to a parking lot to run the backup assist calibration. That all went fine. But it forgot all of that once I shut off the vehicle even though the trailer was still connected. I wish there was a way to submit bug reports.
I have a battery case on my iPhone 16 Pro which protrudes past the cameras and that still has a problem with the wireless charging. To be fair, a desktop wireless charger doesn't work well either. I've resorted to just plugging it in. Pity that charging standard isn't more forgiving on spacing.
Because I'd been driving a Gen 1 1986 4Runner and OMG this new Trailhunter is SOOOOO nice.
"Prevailing wisdom" is such a bullsh*t phrase. Herd mentality. Doesn't mean they are right.
Thus far, the list of things that could be improved upon are:
1) The snorkel noise
2) I wish there was a...
That's interesting. I've noticed that after a power wash following driving on dusty roads everything looks clean but soon after there's a lot of washed dust residue on top of the rear bumper. Clearly it's not getting flushed out.
I loved the Trailhunter from the moment I saw it. That said, there's a video on YouTube with some auto journalists test driving both on Hell's Revenge in Moab. They said that the Trailhunter has everything that you'd want to do to a TRD Pro already on it from the factory. Yes, the snorkel...
A few weeks ago, I decided to dig out my Karavan 12-foot flat bed trailer to try out the trailer features on my Trailhunter. I played with the backup assist which was pretty cool once I got it calibrated properly.
But I just tried hooking up the trailer again this week and it forgot everything...
