I have 285 70 17 wild peaks on my sr5. The speedometer is 2 miles an hour off. I had it at the dealer and they said there was no calibration that can be done to change that. So the speedometer register is 2 miles an hour faster than I'm actually going.
I also put the same tires on my 2025 ice cap 4Runner.
I don't ever get more than 16/17 miles per gallon no matter how I drive the vehicle. Love the way it looks, but it definitely changed to a lot more of a stiff ride and you definitely feel potholes and bumps more. And as for the gas mileage...
Got my floor liners today. What a difference. They are way better than WeatherTech and made of the same rubber that the stock 4 runner comes with. They fastened down the same way as the stock ones do but cover so much more.
I like them a lot. You can definitely tell the weight of the tires. The ride is very similar, except for the obvious Extreme pot holes where you can tell the difference.
The truck has a tight/stiffer ride than my tacoma does. But not that different since changing the tires. It's just the way...
These tires mounted up to the stock rim with no problem. They are extremely quiet and handle the road well. There's not much of a difference between the stock 245s and these 285s. As far as Comfort .
I’m not sure yet, I will fill up for the first time this weekend and let you know. I did notice the speedo is 2 miles per hour off with the bigger tires. I am hoping the dealer can reprogram that.
