Yes there are plenty of dealerships I can take it to but that's a last resort as I want Toyota to tell me what to do versus me guessing where to take it and hoping I get better service somewhere else.
They said they could not replicate the issue. My guess is because in the service department there are thousands of vehicles coming through all the time and the place smells like a giant exhaust factory. It would be hard to place any kind of smells coming from one specific vehicle in a situation...
Yes I agree.. I don't know if they did the UV test as I don't recall them stating that and don't see it on the paperwork right now I'm waiting for Toyota corporate to get back to me to give me next steps.
Interesting hypothesis on the warmer garage and things expanding. I would buy that if it was a long time before I smelled the smell but give it an hour after I get home and it's pretty bad. Not to mention smelling it while driving makes me think something else is going on.

Correct.. this is straight up gasoline smell. It will stay in my garage until I open the garage door and let everything air out. It's starting to get scary.
