  1. What do you do for work?

I'm in IT too, Sys Admin. The 4Runner is definitely not a "mainstream" vehicle so it's no surprise to me it attracts certain types of buyers. I'm not a marketing person, nor a sociologist, I'll leave that up to the experts to better explain. I spend a lot of time camping, fishing, and...
  2. Spare tire issue - wear marks on sidewall from rubbing against frame

HydeQc, I like your solution. I was curious if I take the lazy approach and stick some adhesive foam to the frame rails, would it prevent the tire from rubbing though? I attached a pic of what I have in mind. You can purchase up to 1" wide with 3M tape (the best I think).
  3. Just got back from my 5000 mile service

None of this surprises me. I've had similar experience with my wife's car at a Chevy dealer. With the "free" services (warranty paid) or the significantly reduced price service specials (Chevy has 5qt synthetic oil change, tire rotation, and multi-point inspection for $90), the dealers are...
  4. 2026 4Runner Pricing / Changes / Updates / Colors - Official Announcement

You can wait for a '26 but I think any post-QC Held 4Runner is good as it gets. They addressed the issues during the hold. I'm still waiting for Toyota to announce what the changes were. I also believe the Japanese are continuously addressing production issues and deficiencies as they happen...
  5. SR5 Quality Issues

Sorry to hear about your issues. My fender flares are OK. I was curious when was your 4Runner manufactured, mine was May 2025? I developed the brake squeal after 1,000 miles. It definitely happens more frequently when it's damp and/or the brakes are wet (after washing the car). I plan to...
  6. Spare tire issue - wear marks on sidewall from rubbing against frame

Take a look at this thread from the early days... https://www.4runner6g.com/forum/threads/sr5-spare-tire-wheel-2025-4runner-6th-gen-photos.2574/. This is what my spare tire looked like when I removed it. You can see the 4 spots where the bars rubbed the tire.
  7. Spare tire issue - wear marks on sidewall from rubbing against frame

I'm not sure if it's unsafe. I don't always trust tire shops who are out to sell you tires. Doubtful the dealer would warranty a tire for that reason. Every 4Runner and Tacoma should have these wear marks since they all use the same tire carrier. the design is poor - use two metal rods...
  8. Spare tire issue - wear marks on sidewall from rubbing against frame

My SR5 donut looks the same. I took it out to replace it with a full sized spare. The frame has two lateral bars supporting the crank mechanism. The tire is pressed against it. I've been looking for a plastic disk to protect it. All I could find are soft vinyl covers. Maybe someone has a...
  9. QC Hold for Air Dam Was Real

Vincenzo - I just found and read your reply to an earlier post about the air dam. You are right, that's exactly what Toyota did!
  10. QC Hold for Air Dam Was Real

... or so it appears. I removed the air dam on my SR5 last weekend. My 4Runner was held at port for a month and a half. I picked it up in beginning of July, has a mid-May build date. After watching a few how-to videos from Feb-Mar, I immediately noticed some differences in the...
  11. 6th gen owners - why did you jump on a year 1 model of the refresh?

Just buy it! You will not regret it. I'm extremely happy with my SR5. I too watched all the ridiculous YouTube videos. They said it's junk, trash, garbage, etc. They said Toyota was done for and going out of business. It's all just a bunch of click-bait nonsense. The Tacoma (essentially...
  12. First oil change at 500 miles

I stopped by my local dealer, not where I bought it, to inquire about Toyota Care. I was told 5k intervals with 10k oil changes for 2 years. I asked about using up the "free" oil changes for the first two, 5k and 10k, and was told no. They charge $100 for an oil change so I will mostly pay...
  13. 2026 4Runner specs hopes/wants?

Bring back the SR5 Premium for around $50k. This is what I wanted but could not get, or at least new. We do not need many of the higher trims. Keep it simple like the 5th gen trims were.
  14. Factory Lug Nuts - chrome nuts part number?

I would like to replace the wheel locks that came with my truck with regular lugs nuts. Does anyone know the factory part # for chrome nuts? I spent a considerable amount of time looking up and I'm getting conflicting info.
  15. All-Terrain Tire Recommendation for SR5?

matrixkiwi - I ended up cancelling the 4R I had a deposit on after it arrived. I did not like Ice Cap color on a SR5, after seeing it in person. Another dealer I had been working with received a Heritage Blue SR5 a few days later. I went over there, looked at, bought it right away after they...
