Hi, not sure where this graphic came from, but some of the icons are not correct for the names. The icon shown for PKSB is really the icon for Intuitive Parking Assist, and the icon for RCD is really the PKSB icon. The icon for RCD is not shown here, and the icon for RSA is different as well...
I double checked/confirmed it's pg231 for me, using a manual pdf I downloaded. The version I have ( "Owners Manual_USA_M35B85_en" at the bottom of page 2, of 709 pages ) was downloaded back in April or so.
Are you talking about a hardcopy from your glove box? Come to think of it, I don't know...
This turns out to be a pretty useful feature (pg 231 of the manual). You use it in stop-and-go traffic, or if you're in the line for a drive-thru window (I suppose you could leave it always on for regular driving too, e.g. at stop lights). The purpose is so you don't have to keep your foot on...
Would you (and any others) mind elaborating on what you don't like about it? I don't have an opinion on it yet since I haven't used it (all city driving, or at most a few miles on a freeway between exits where I didn't see a need to engage cruise control at all), so I'd like to know what issues...
Yep, surprising the TSB doesn't at least say to run a die grinder with an abrasive pad over the entire rotor surface in case there's glaze. But given how few miles most of these 4runners will have, it's probably not surprising that wholesale replacement of rotors was not included.
I seem to recall there's a big section of the manual describing all the potential blind spots (or really, blind areas not spots). There's only so much you can display when you only have 4 cameras somewhere in the middle area of each side of a rectangle to cover 360* and non of those cameras has...
Did you check to see if PDA is enabled and turned it off and tried again. Assuming this fixes it for you, it's not related to having a trailer attached.
I just went on a short trip, backed out of my garage and about half way down the driveway I stopped, opened the driver's door, let off the brake, and it continued backing down my driveway with the door opened. So I wasn't seeing the auto-braking described above.
In my settings, I have...
To be clear, you had no trailer, you just opened the driver door, put into reverse, and it autobrakes and you can't move until you close the driver door? (I've not tried that yet but surely would some day, so I'm interested)
I think Cloudblazer is probably on to something, re: autobrake...
Same. It's not clear at all. Maybe the OP could try explaining again, with more details.
I'm not even sure what "over ride car stop" means. Are you saying the 4runner automatically applies full braking when in reverse with the door (do you mean liftgate or driver's side door) open? Or only...
I haven't really reviewed much footage beyond the first couple days after the install. The single attachment point via the headliner bracket is not ideal, but since I use a screw and a u-nut, I can cinch it down a lot more than you could if you use the plastic push-in pin to attach the bracket...
Just to provide a visual on this, here's a pic of the metal bracket that the headliner plug (or screw) goes in to. You can only see the bracket if you pull the headliner out of the way. This is a zoomed pic with the rear hatch open, zoomed in at the top-middle of the rear opening, and also...
Single stage isn't used much anymore for US cars but it's still used (maybe more for some foreign makes). There's nothing fundamentally wrong with single stage paint (I had an early 2000's vehicle and its single stage white looked just as good as new at ~15 years when I sold it), and I imagine...
There seems to be a high correlation between living in Florida and brake squeal for new 4runner owners. Humidity and/or dew point related, I would guess. Maybe there should be a new brake squeal poll asking if you live in a humid area and have brake squeal vs dryer areas.
Are there any 2025...
