I’ve wondered about this, I have heard a lot of people say it, but isn’t the oil being cooled as well throughout the drive? I sit there for a minute after my commute, but the oil temp on the gage doesn’t seem to change at all?

Might I suggest a third, more ‘neutral’, option to allow those of us who don’t feel so strongly about it.

ah gotcha. I think you'll need to manually route it. Stickerfab has a good video on it:

The SR5 has the wiring for power. I think you’ll need to use a Dongar Pro type adapter to get the power to your DashCam type mirror tho. I have the OEM DashCam connected to it, so maybe need a splitter.
