  1. Off road with front sway bar unbolted

I'm not an aggressive off-roader but I believe it really depends on what you are doing. If you find yourself with only three wheels on the ground it might put the fourth one down.
  2. TRD Pro - payload capacity?

Under 49 CFR 567.4(g)(3) and 49 CFR Part 110, vehicle capacity weight (payload) is not a fixed number but is determined by the manufacturer. It represents the rated cargo and luggage load plus 68 kilograms (150 pounds) multiplied by the vehicle's designated seating capacity. I read that for most...
  3. TRD Pro - payload capacity?

What I am wondering is does that little yellow sticker measure only things that are not bolted down. My non-premium trd off-road i-force max has a yellow sticker that matches the weight of the rubber floor and cargo mats (not bolted down/kind of). A Pro has a curb weight 230lbs more than my...
  4. TRD Pro - payload capacity?

What I understand from the manual is that the GVWR includes the curbweight + optional equipment (anything bolted down) + trailer tongue weight + Vehicle capacity weight “payload” “Occupants + luggage” (things that can move around) 895lbs (1160lbs Limited). So those skid plates, roof rack, rock...
  5. TRD Pro - payload capacity?

I just googled the payload capacity of a Honda civic. It is 850 lbs. I still feel that the payload number is something to satisfy government regulations.

  7. TRD Pro - payload capacity?

I think the payload number is a bs number. It seems based on a government regulations, I think 49 CFR 571-100, that has to do with tire and rim selection. If I remember it is calculated as 150lb per person plus cargo. I think the Limited, 6 passenger, has a bigger payload than a pro. Again if I...
  8. Side Mirror Connectors

I finally got the aftermarket mirrors installed. I broke one spade in the OEM passenger mirror. Took a pair of pliers and a lot of wiggling to get the spade out of the connector. The drivers side (I did it second) was no problem. I did a little gentle wiggling and it came apart easily.
  9. Side Mirror Connectors

OK, who has some skill with connectors. They hate me. I bought some SUMA side mirrors; without turn signals. I went onto ALLDATE where Toyota says to just pry the mirror off. A little scary but not too much trouble. Now there are two connectors. One little connector with a lock I assume is for...
  10. "...lacks a manual because nobody's asking for it"

I do not believe they can meet CAFE Standards with a manual transmission. I drove manual for 30 years but 8 on the floor would be a pain.
