  1. TRD Pro exhaust - better performance or just sound?

Not sure but why wouldn't you get the cheaper trim and just do a muffler delete or something?
  2. K&N Air Intake 63 Series installed review + sound clip video (on non-hybrid gas engine)

I believe the OEM box is water tight, whereas this one is not. I also watches a YouTube video for the installation. It could even affect rain or splashing, not necessarily complete soaking.
  3. K&N Air Intake 63 Series installed review + sound clip video (on non-hybrid gas engine)

I read somewhere that this is actually a downgrade, because the factory intake is water sealed - whereas this one is not.
  4. TRD Sport received in Canada

Looks sharp! I'm waiting for SR5 in Montreal. How did insurance go? I've called mine already and the quote is 3X my current Subaru and they want me to get an anti-theft TAG system installed.
  5. TRD Sport received in Canada

    Canadian thing, SR5 as well.
  6. Anti-theft and insurance

Our quotes will be vastly different due to many factors even on the same car - age, driving record etc... They quoted me a little under triple my current Subaru monthly payment for the 2025 4runner SR5 - but they dropped it to double my current Subaru payment with the installation of a third...
  7. Anti-theft and insurance

As I get closer to picking up my SR5 some questions are coming up for me. I called my insurance and they quoted me really high, 3X the current rate I have on my Subaru Crosstrek - they told me it's because the 4runner is stolen often at least here in Montreal. They said they won't even insure...
  8. Tunes: aFe Scorcher vs. OTT vs. JB4 vs. VF Tuner

We can probably expect the exact same module coming for the new 4runner. 60HP to the wheels brings us to the mid 300 HP range for the gas only engine, pretty wild for a little tune. Also, because this is a piggyback it can be removed with very little trace if warranty is a concern.
  9. Tunes: aFe Scorcher vs. OTT vs. JB4 vs. VF Tuner

They must have been really popular for the mini's because I keep hearing of others who used them. I just had the little JB+ module on mine, tiny little thing that added like 4-5 psi boost if I remember correctly. The little hatchback was so light that any gain made it feel super fast - what a...
  10. Tunes: aFe Scorcher vs. OTT vs. JB4 vs. VF Tuner

From what I understand, they also increase efficiency as well as power output. The tunes essentially create the best functioning parameters for the engine, whereas they come "detuned" from Toyota due to regulations. I'm no pro, so don't take my word for it, but this is what I understand just by...
  11. Tunes: aFe Scorcher vs. OTT vs. JB4 vs. VF Tuner

Here's a simple module from burger motor sports for the 2024+ Tacoma - I'd assume JB4 piggyback for the new 4runner will be out very shortly. Add's +75 HP with no other mods. https://burgertuning.com/collections/toyota-tuners-performance-parts/products/jb4-for-toyota-tacoma-turbo
  12. Tunes: aFe Scorcher vs. OTT vs. JB4 vs. VF Tuner

The new 4runner has got my attention due to how tuneable it actually is. Some people have hated on the addition of the turbo, but I'm embracing it. I've had a simple tuning module on my mini cooper before that transformed the car, and it was a simple piggy back module from burger motor sports...
  13. Finally test drove - screen felt low

Oh maybe that would make it feel better, I'll try that next time.
  14. Finally test drove - screen felt low

I'd totally wait until after the impeding global economic collapse as well, but I have a 2 kids, one brand new and we need the size ASAP. I do prefer the smaller screen to the 14 though.
  15. Finally test drove - screen felt low

The sport does look great, but it's 5k more for stuff I really dont need. Would rather put the cash towards wheels/tires on the SR5. I'm quite average actually at 5'8, so don't think it's a height thing.
