you have a point. proud casting marks are fine...ignore them or file them down...
but recessed ones means there may be more cavities internally, or more depth to
the imperfection.
the term ceramic for these coatings is a big stretch... as that term means hardened by high heat, these ain't that, though it is more complex than simple 'silicone oil'. there is a hardening of the coating making it a lot more robust than a wax job...and mileage varies by product for sure. some...
these coatings are not super magic
The primary component of "ceramic" coatings is silicone oil,
usually polydimethylsiloxane, aka, lube.
'project farm' did a bunch of tests and shows some brands which blow the
others away, it may make sense to view one of his test rounds before you
drop money...
dude...
I was flying down I-95 in my Yaris at night, one week after I had the bumper replaced after some clown backed into it and cracked it to hell a month prior.
In medium traffic at 70-ish suddenly I see a friggin gatorade piss-jug bounce from under one truck in the right lane and it landed...
it's gotta be a crack
though it could be a casting mark, I've never seen a casting
mark like that on any drivetrain component on any toyota
I'd be surprised if it isn't a crack...and if it is a casting mark, then others
here could peek at the front diff and see what theirs looks like they'd...
rav4 hybrid is roomy enough and efficient enough. or go crazy get a prius and get maximum mileage
FYI the hybrid systems in the rav4, Prius, and others
is vastly superior than the one in the 4runner
and is more reliable due to no slushbox transmission, starter, or other old school
components...
yes warranty ...[unless you've been out jumping it]
that is the front axle tube coming from the front differential
and that is a huge, extensive crack
vehicle should not be driven at all, needs to be towed
possible life safety issue if that breaks while driving
every component connected between the rubber and vehicle body
transmits sound differently. what specific pieces were installed to
lift it ? that is one reason tire noise can change.
