2 nights ago I was backing out of my single car garage and I caught my right side mirror on the edge of the garage door opening. The mirror assembly seemed to explode on contact. The mirror assembly seems to made of cheap plastic and did not stand a chance against the door frame.
I ordered a new mirror assembly which includes heated glass, BSM, directional light and a camera. Since I had to buy the mirror cap separately I decided to buy two silver caps to replace the black ones that come on the Off Road Premium. The total price is $950which includes $25 for expedited shipping. That's the painful but easy part of the process.
Now the difficult part. It looks like the inside door panel needs to be removed in order to gain access to the mirror assembly fasteners and electrical plug. Can anybody post a link to instructions for removing the door panel and replacing the mirror assembly on a Gen 6 model? Or offer any advice on doing this job? I see some info on the net for earlier Generations but I want to make sure that I get this right. Thanks.
