I was thinking about selling them or trading them for the long one from other companies. The problem you can’t use the running board step to climb in the rear seat.Maybe a child can ,as you can see they are welded more towards the front of the door. I am going to make a 8” extension on the rear of the step. I don’t know thee layout yet. will it be a flat piece or a tube like extension that will bolt on . What yall opinion?

Just FYI, I have very similar OEM steps to those Toyo OEM steps in your photo, in both my wife’s 3rd Gen Tacoma TRD ORP and my 5th Gen 4R TRD ORP. They work just fine to enter and exit the vehicle, when the rear doors are open. I haven’t felt the need to extend or replace them. Of course, they’re not rock sliders but serve their intended purpose well IME.

We have the same issue with our predator steps, that were installed yesterday. We loved the predator steps on our 2022 4 Runner XP. That's not the case with the our new 2025 4 Runner Off Road Premium. The predator steps to not align with door placement. The back seat step does align with the back door. The placement is more between the front and back door. Our grandson tends to step on the fender part and not the step when existing the vehicle. This causes a flexing of the fender part. I feel like the predator step measurements are still in sinc with previous year Runners and not the new and upgrade exterior configuration. It's weird.
