  1. Tire Chains Installed on 265/70/18 Tires - Chaining Up For Snow

I wonder if conventional chains would work on the OEM SR5 wheels (245/70 R17)?
  2. Veteran's Thought: Which Truck Would You Choose Besides 4Runner?

Assuming this is not a poll with voting buttons ( I could not see that), here is my comment. Land Rover Defender OCTA edition. IMHO, its one of the most capable off-road vehicle in existence. Lots of $$$$ to buy. M5 BMW Engine. 626 HP, 0-60 in 3.5 seconds and 553 lb-ft of torque...
  3. This thing is a beast in a foot of snow on icy road

I thought exactly the same after clicking on the "Title bait" or 1ft of snow. More like 1/4" snow in the second picture. I'd like to see it in 12 inches of snow with ice layers on the bottom :)
  4. 2025 4runner TRD Off-Road Premium is useless in the winter (can't fit tire chains)

Okay, you can or cannot. What do Toyota say? If not, what is the reason, clearance from bits in the wheel well? Can you put chains on the 245-70-17 stock SR5?
  5. This motor sounds bad. Is it an issue?

Nope.... My goal for this vehicle was not power, towing, etc. If I wanted or needed more power, I'd have gotten a different vehicle. Saying that, I think the 4R is plenty powerful, even in Eco. If I need to tow, I have an F350 diesel. If I want fast, I'd opt or a Porsche 911. As you can see, I...
  6. Random 6G4R Observation of the Day - Rear Seat Floor Attachment Point Covers

    Interesting and weird observation.
  7. This motor sounds bad. Is it an issue?

Octain rating, pro's and cons have been discussed in many other forum posts. It's probably fair to say, it's unrelated to injector noise. Everyone has an opinion and can spend money where they want, I prefer data driven decisions. . Not needing the claimed additional HP, I'll run 87 100%. I...
  8. Cash and laptop was stolen

I see the moderators are deleting my posts again, without any notification or justification. I simply stated that this posting was not 4Runner related and should the moderators not delete this posting and not my factual posting????
  9. V6 engine recall. This is a bit concerning considering I just bought my first Toyota

This is really not 4Runner related. Again, where are the moderators?
  10. Which Drive Mode are you all using for daily driving?

Normal does not seem to be the "default" in my SR5. I set to Eco and it stays in that mode unless I change to normal or sports. Maybe its just the Sports mode that you cannot leave in that mode?
  11. Anyone hear about Lexland products?

Don't cheap it... Get Redline struts...
  12. Rear Door Window Seal - Looks like its incorrectly fitted both sides

I got my 4R right of the delivery truck. No lockbox installed unless it was done during delivery. Its also tge same issue both sides. If anyone is bringing this to the dealer, please share dealer response. I am not schedule to go for an oils change for a couple of months.
  13. Just got back from my 5000 mile service

I too mark the tires and take a sample of the oil from the dipstick to compare color in the parking lot of the dealer when picking up. I would seriously report your experience to management and Toyota. Equally, never go to that dealer again. Its places like that who give a back reputation to...
  14. Weather Tech window visors full set now available

The original poster gave details on the fitment, tape and clips. Read top down not bottom up :)
  15. SR5 Quality Issues

I’d publish the dealers name so others can avoid. Sorry you arehaving these issues.
  16. Which Drive Mode are you all using for daily driving?

Eco. But what the hell is comfort mode??? I guess the comfort mode is not on the cheaper models like the SR5.
  17. SR5 not setting correct time

Mine changed when I manually turn DST off in the main screens settings. You would think this would be automatic. I did toggle DST on and off and the dash screen did change too. Even a cheap Chinese digital clock can update time correctly.
  18. SR5 not setting correct time

Hey Y'all: The time changed here a couple of days ago and I noticed the 4R Sr5 did not change the time. I looked in the book and it directed me to the 8" infotainment screen. Setting | General | Date and Time. I sat the time was 1 hour ahead and the DST switch was toggled on. I also saw the...
  19. Is Toyota false advertising (full size spare tire in TRD Sport Premium)?

At best that is laziness by Toyota not keeping the web details up to date and announcing changes with dates. This is close to being a scam, switch and bait. Shame on you Toyota. I remember the SR5 with all the test reviewers saying it had heated seat.... NOT. Sadly, I am back to buying a Ford...
