Interestingly, the hybrid DOES have an alternator, but only if the 4Runner was optioned with the Aux switches. If you don't have the aux switches optioned, there isn't an alternator under the hood. I confirmed this in person on two HORPs last week. Identical in all ways except those buttons. The...
Nah. The steps suck. I could step in and out pretty easily if it weren't for the steps. They stick out just far enough to make it awkward and my calf hits. Actually using the step is an option, but if I step on it, I'm waaaaay too high to actually sit down easily. It's really just the wrong...
I don't care either way on the scoop...But price aside...It's probably going to come down to availability for me when I decide to pull the trigger.
Also, I could do a blue one :D
How tall are all you people? I'm 5'11" and I can sit behind myself pretty easily.
Agreed about the power running boards...They are exactly the wrong swing for my height...I can step over them, but it's really awkward due to how far they swing out. Stepping on them puts me too high up to easily...
I like the Amp power steps because they drop down so much further than the fixed steps, but then retract up and out of the way so they don't catch on things. My truck is fairly tall though. With the step-in height of the more street oriented 4Runners, they would probably make it pretty awkward...
I've got Amp Research power running boards on my Tundra, and they make entry and egress very easy for anybody that's fairly mobile. If you can walk up one or two stairs, you can get in my truck. It's a big truck though.
For 4Runner, it may also come down to how tall you are. At 5'11", I can...
I'd be taking the roof rack off on day one and plugging the snorkel up as soon as I figured out how LOL
I'm leaning Pro, but I see more Trailhunters, so I may wind up with one. Or I may just cheap out and get a HORP.
HORP HORP HORP. I'd call it that every day.
Curious if with this style of 'snorkel', if you can take it through an automatic (with brushes!) car wash. I know you couldn't with the last style they had on the Taco pros.
I'm sure they have it programmed to the proper tire size for the trim/tire.
I don't know at what level the actual math is modifiable. Dealer/distributor/etc...No idea. Toyotas are locked down pretty tight. This is why people build LS's, not 3URs :D
As far as I know, Toyota still locks down the computer, so tire size can't be adjusted in there. This means that the 4Runner thinks it has the factory size and your shift points/odo/tripmeter will be off. I've gone up to 35s (from my stock 33s) on my Tundra, and it absolutely affects how it...
