I had this happened to me once. Had some new tires and wheels mounted, everything was good for a week or two. Then suddenly, just vibrations at 50+ mph. Rebalanced. All is good again. So def, worth a try.
No, they dont show up on Carfax. I don't know how Carfax pulls the records but only the official ones (in my case, maintenance done at the dealership) shows up.
This is why I stated earlier about doing as many diy oil changes you want in between, but you want at least the 10K intervals to be at...
I don't know about the suspension on the other trims but I am comparing my OR 4Runner with my OR 3G Tacoma and I can say it is stiff and barely has any body roll. Those 3G Tacoma only had a front sway bar and very soft shocks.
I stick to changing my oil every 6 months or every 5K mile, whichever comes first. Yes, some people will say 6 months / 5K is “too early”, cool, you do you. At the 10K intervals, I let the dealership do it.
For example,
5K = DIY
10K = Dealership
15K = DIY
20K = Dealership
You get the idea. I...
what are you guys doing with your spare? I plan on running 35s but not sure what I want to do about the spare. I was planning on just completely removing it.
Maybe I'm just comparing it to my old 3G Tacoma, or maybe it's because of my C-load tires, but I take some pretty sharp turns and I don't think it body rolls at all. If it does, I can't tell.
Is the custom tune with the revisions a onetime thing for that time only or can you get revisions as long as you own the truck? Say if you get upgrades years later and want a revision tune.
Anyone here running wheel locks on aftermarket wheels? I’m planning to travel more around the country and have been considering a set for my RRW wheels to help deter theft. Haven't looked around too much but I was thinking about a set from McGard.
Back in the day I used a pedal lock, kind of like The Club, but for pedals called the Autolock Pedal Lock. It was meant to clamp around the brake pedal but works for any pedal so I locked the accelerator instead. My thinking was: sure, they might get the car started but now got to figure out how...
Ask yourself whether you really need a roof rack. I had one on my 3G Tacoma, and never again. I thought I was going to use it, but I never actually did and worse, even when I installed it correctly, it still leaked water into the cabin during heavy rain.
People can build their vehicles however they want. Just gotta understand the trade‑offs that come with mods. You see plenty of threads almost daily on forums where people toss on big 'o E‑rated tires and a lift, then get surprised when the ride gets stiff, the suspension clunking randomly, or...
